**SIX TIPS FOR SURVIVING THANKSGIVING WITH FRIENDS AND RELATIVES** A lot of people are upset with politics, sports, finances and many other things this year. Just like every other year. So, they'll be bringing their strong and differing opinions to Thanksgiving dinner. So here are 6 simple tips to help you enjoy yourself while others are losing their cool. When the person asks a provocative question or starts to get upset about this or that, try these responses while smiling. 1) "Wow, I didn't know that! I'll check that out for myself later. Please pass the turkey." 2) "I guess we see this differently. Would you be interested in hearing MY opinion?" 3) "You seem upset. Would you like some more turkey?" 4) "Ya know, one of the best things about this country is that we can all believe what we want to believe. Isn't that GREAT?!" 5) "Well there ya go. Can I refill your water glass or get you some turkey?" 6) "Pardon me for a moment. I need to get another (beverage of your choice). Would you like one...before you LEAVE?" Happy Thanksgiving, from my family to yours, my friends.

In a few days, loved ones of all ages will gather to be grateful! As you prepare for your Thanksgiving celebration, consider these ideas to get the different generations in your family connecting: 1. Merge the kids’ and adults’ tables. Don’t segment seating by age, instead mix generations and see what happens. Whether a grandparent shares a pearl of wisdom or a teen captures the meal on SnapChat, everyone can learn from each other! 2. Ask questions and share stories. Research shows that stories sync the brains of the storyteller and the listener. What a great way to transfer knowledge, wisdom, and legacy with those you love! Here are some conversation sparkers: · What was Thanksgiving like when you were growing up? · What is your favorite holiday memory or tradition? · Who or what are you thankful for in your life now? · Here is a special story about our family… · The quality I most appreciate about you is… 3. Do an activity together. Whether taking a walk, playing a game, or cooking together- sharing experiences creates connections and memories that can last a lifetime. Let us know if you try these tips, and what you notice about the experience! Our hope is that this Thanksgiving you and yours will gain perspective of the past and the present… and strengthen generational connections for years to come. Happy Thanksgiving! J + Dr. K

Happy Thanksgiving! 🦃🍂 Thanksgiving: a time for gratitude, great food, and... navigating the table talk with Uncle Harry or Aunt Beatrice. You know the ones—their "hot takes" and colorful commentary always seem to steal the spotlight. Here’s a thought: rather than sidestepping those conversations or bracing for impact, what if we approached them with curiosity? Instead of reacting, listen. Instead of debating, ask a question. It’s amazing how far empathy and a little humor can go toward transforming potentially tense moments into opportunities for connection. Thanksgiving isn’t just about the turkey; it’s about celebrating the differences that make us family. Who knows—maybe Uncle Harry’s outlandish story or Aunt Beatrice’s latest life advice will give you a perspective you hadn’t considered (or at least a story to tell for years to come!). Wishing you a day filled with patience, good vibes, and plenty of pie. 🥧 What’s your go-to strategy for those tricky holiday dinner conversations? Let’s hear it below!
