The FIA and iRacing are working to grow grassroots motorsport by making available 12-month promotional codes to all ASNs (national associations) that they can offer to their members. The plan is that by offering a low-cost and easily accessible route into grassroots motor sport, sim racers may potentially move on to real-life competition. This is yet another example of sim racing acting as a gateway to motorsport. #simracing #esports
This is a great initiative, let's hope the Canadian ASN choses to participate!
Sim racing is definetly very tranlatable in my experience. I found that spending alot of time in the sim made me faster out on the karting track so this is a great incentive!
Good news for the sport, many never find a path to enter due to the expense but having a way to prove yourself and gain sponsors will equate to a larger talent pool and greater competition thus the sport can continue to grow and develop. Thanks for sharing.
How do you grow a brand? One of the ways is to make it accessible. These are good steps taken. Thanks to digital platforms offering unprecedented visibility and access, grassroots motorsports are experiencing a renaissance IMO and are helping to set up the next 10 years of Motorsport stars.
Thats awesome hope all the ASNs from india will participate in it 👍

9moOr the FIA could reduce the barrier to entry by promoting the use of free to play after low cost initial purchase of sim games like AC and rF2 which are better for developing skills as well.
