Lung cancer can be difficult to detect because there are few nerve endings in the lungs, so tumors can grow without causing pain. It's sometimes found by chance during tests for other conditions. It can have many symptoms, but there often aren't any signs in the early stages. Lung cancer is one of the leading causes of cancer deaths worldwide, yet early detection and awareness can make a life-saving difference. Symptoms vary from person to person, and they include; A cough that doesn't go away or gets worse over time, Chest pain, Shortness of breath or wheezing, Coughing up blood. Although pain can be controlled with painkillers, which can be taken orally, as a patch, or as an injection. Treating the cancer can also often improve pain. Having two or more of these unexplained symptoms and if the patient is 40 or older or has ever smoked and has one or more of these symptoms, it might be necessary to get a chest x-ray within two weeks. #AriseNursing
