Back from Norway! 🇳🇴
Our team joined the EDF STORE Project Assembly in Kongsberg, where the results of first year’s hardwork were shared.
Big thanks to all partners for pushing boundaries together. Exciting times ahead!
#STORE#Innovation#AI#CUAS
We're excited to share our involvement in the EDF STORE project, coordinated by Thales and supported by the European Defence Fund. Our role in this initiative focuses on these key areas:
▶ developing innovative computer vision models
▶ generating synthetic machine learning data
▶ gathering and labelling military object data
The STORE project is crucial as it develops Europe’s first extensive, shared database of defense imagery, focusing on enhancing the capabilities of optronic sensors integrated with AI to counter rapidly evolving threats like drone swarms and hypersonic missiles. This initiative is set to transform how land forces perceive and react on the battlefield by improving situational awareness and speeding up decision-making processes, which is very important in today’s complex threat environment.
For more information regarding the project: https://edf-store.com/#
Stay tuned as we continue moving forward in this important defense technology project!

The European Union STORE project by combining #optronic sensors with #AI-based analyses techniques will set up future functionalities to augment the war fighters' perception of the battlefield.
Highlights from ILA Berlin - Pioneering Aerospace
1. Prominent Presence of In-Space Manufacturing Companies
Noteworthy is the significant presence of companies focused on in-space manufacturing. Key players include The Exploration Company, Voyager Space, Redwire Space Europe, and Airbus. The pioneering mission by Varda Space Industries seems to have inspired many in the industry, though I remain skeptical about the market size. Bioprinting, in particular, holds promise, yet a commercially viable product appears to be at least a decade away. It is evident that both Europe and the US are recognizing low Earth orbit as a commercial frontier, while space agencies are shifting their focus toward deep space exploration.
2. Funding Shifts and Security Discourse
I liked how one of the speakers said with regret that there will be less money for exploration projects in the future, because in the foreseeable future more money will be spent on war. This shift towards security and technological sovereignty was palpable. The European Union is acutely aware of the strategic importance of space for Europe's future security. The current situation mirrors post-Yugoslav war developments when Europe established its own GNSS. Today, similar efforts are underway with IRIS², despite the realistic expectations that the system will not be operational by 2027 and will likely exceed initial cost estimates. Plus the results of European Parliament elections will likely affect EU’s approach to space programs.
3. Emphasis on Long-Term Space Sustainability
A key event was the signing of the ESA Zero Debris Charter by over forty organizations, underscoring a commitment to sustainable space activities. However, the document itself does not contain the clause of deorbiting of space object within five years, which is already a commitment for European Space Agency - ESA missions. This requirement currently applies mainly when companies seek an FCC license, effectively making the five-year rule a standard since 2022. The Zero Debris Charter remains non-binding, but it reflects a collective aspiration towards a future free from space debris.
4. Support for Light Launch Vehicles
Europe is poised to support the development of light launch vehicles, with anticipated, albeit modest, returns of European launch capabilities this summer with Ariane 6 and LV from Isar Aerospace. This initiative reflects an institutional push aiming to ensure Europe’s assured access to space, however commercial prospects of these LVs remain unclear to me.
5. Local Focus of ILA Berlin
ILA Berlin retains a local flavor, with a limited presence of international space companies. I had anticipated greater participation from French, Italian, and British firms, as well as leading New Space companies from Lithuania (Kongsberg NanoAvionics) and Belgium (Aerospacelab). Nevertheless, it was a pleasure to meet the colleagues from the Berlin office of EnduroSat.
Aerospace companies and manufacturers supplying parts to the industry have embraced digital twin technology more rapidly than other sectors. In fact, 75% of Air Force executives consider it important. imaginX emphasizes that to achieve the next level of engineering productivity, speed, and quality, the aerospace sector must focus on analytics-driven productivity and the digital twin. While many companies are already exploring these areas, there remains significant opportunity to accelerate and scale efforts.

Global Defense Consultant | Driving Sustainable Growth for Your Dual-Use Business | Developing Aerospace, AI, Robotics & Manufacturing Tech? We Should Talk. ⬇️
So, you are Anduril Industries and you're at the brink of scoring one of the biggest prizes in #Aerospace & #Defense (the #CCA contract), but...
You also realize that you are staring at a major challenge if you win -- your #manufacturing capacity. What do you do?
🎯 That's right, you launch a #SoftwareDefined factory... as a product!
#Arsenal is a revenue-generating initiative in its own right, not just Anduril's solution to delivering on a potential CCA win.
Last week, I posted about adopting a strategic enterprise mindset (vs. a transactional one) to achieve long-term #SustainableGrowth in tech.
This exemplifies executing on #StrategicIntent with #TacticalAction by setting up concentric recurring-revenue engines, such as the CCA & Arsenal.

Yesterday, we had the honour of sharing results of our collaboration with Asven Gariah from Safran during NAFEMS conference. The presentation, dedicated to advanced predictive maintenance in aeronautics, highlighted the innovative solutions emerging through the use of a #digital_twin coupled with #neural_network. 🚀✈️
👉 We demonstrated how to use a functional and dysfunctional digital twin to train a neural network to recognise weak signals of wear onset in an aircraft engine from a reduced number of measurements . By addressing the challenges of incomplete or scarce functional and especially dysfunctional data in the real world, our approach offers scalable and cost-effective solutions for industry.
The reception from the audience, the enriching discussions and the keen interest shown by the experts present confirmed the relevance of this breakthrough.
🙏 Many thanks to the participants for their pertinent questions and their enthusiasm for this revolutionary technology.
📢 If you're interested, let's talk about it and explore collaboration opportunities together!
