The Oceantic Network has released an executive summary from its Leadership 100 Summit, which focuses on key steps the industry can take to ensure success. 👉 The summary is now available!
The Network gathered more than 50 industry leaders for it's Leadership 100 Summit in November to discuss supply chain barriers and explore pressing industry topics, such as strengthening project viability and turbine growth. Yesterday, we released the Leadership 100 Offshore Wind 2024 Action Plan executive summary, which focuses on keys steps the Network and industry can take to ensure success in the years ahead. Key findings from the Leadership 100 Summit include: -The potential to foster greater supply chain investments and advancements by both encouraging greater project viability in the procurement structure and decoupling projects from port and transmission infrastructure development. -The need to build a greater understanding of the downstream supply chain costs and increased market risk that comes from continually increasing turbine sizes and lead to less efficient development. -The need for a greater industry-wide collaborative communications strategy to combat misinformation and increase public support for offshore wind. -Data-sharing will strengthen the industry through building public support, reducing pre-development costs, or helping make more environmentally sound regulatory decisions. It was a privilege to recently participate in Centering Indigenous Leadership & Community Voices: A Workshop on Defining Responsible & Respectful Carbon Removal Deployment, hosted by Carbon Removal Canada and Rise Consulting at UBC. An essential conversation throughout the day and a powerful, grounding experience to participate in a Kairos Blanket exercise the night before with Moontide Reconciliation. Further discussions throughout the workshop covered responsible CDR with regards to Ocean, Air, Land other engineered solutions. A key takeaway question to consider: what does responsible deployment in the carbon removal space mean to you?

With a commitment to keeping my carbon footprint as low as possible I typically drive my EV to Vancouver for leadership meetings. But on this occasion it just wasn’t possible. Have to say the views remain spectacular on the floatplane and at least Harbour Air are genuinely committed to carbon neutrality. When’s the last time you thought about your carbon footprint in the work you do? #carbonfootprint #environmentalleadership #notimetolose

We are proud to offer Episode 6, a discussion with EJ policy development leaders Jeremy Orr (Earthjustice) and Sean Moriarty (Archer Public Affairs). Trying to move the needle on many of these issues is really difficult, and both men have done just that in their states and around the country. If you aren't following both already, I'd highly recommend doing so. As always, video of this episode is available on our YouTube channel. #environmentaljustice #environmentalpolicy #leadership Air & Waste Management Association, National Association of Environmental Professionals, Construction & Demolition Recycling Association (CDRA), New Jersey Business & Industry Association (NJBIA) https://lnkd.in/gZ3Cj4dN

Our Executive Chairman, Dr Andrew Forrest AO, has been named in the 2024 TIME100 Climate list, placing him among the most influential climate leaders globally. Only through strong leadership can the world go green. We have the technology, we have the capital, we just need leadership. Dr Forrest is driving Fortescue’s transition from one of Australia’s biggest polluters to a Company that will profitably eliminate fossil fuels from its mining operations by 2030 - and demonstrate that the time for excuses is over. #TIME100Climate
