Food for thought. 💭 Let's face it. The world has been a mess these last few years. 🫨 Recruiters and hiring managers must adapt to the realities of the world we live in today. 🌏 From company downsizing to mass layoffs, many factors are beyond our control. And no job seeker should bear the brunt of these circumstances. A CV gap should never serve as a deal-breaker. 🤝 It's not a reflection of a candidate's potential, skills, or worth. Let's prioritise a person's work ethic, motivation, personal journey, and character... Rather than focusing solely on the dates or gaps in their CV. #jobsearch #jobseekers #jobinterviews #hiringandpromotion #hiring

TOPICS: 3 reasons why landing a new job has become more difficult??? Ans. There is many reasons behind, but in my point of view that could be most important amongest all other... 1. Layoff Spillover: Lingering effects of recent layoffs from overhiring during the pandemic nave flooded the job market with competitive talent, making it harder for job seekers to stand out. 2. Al Impact: The prevalence of Al in resume screening has made it more challenging for applicants to differentiate themselves, leveling the playing field and intensifying competition 3. Market Re-correction: Shifting from an employee's to an employer's market post- COVID-19, companies are becoming mord selective in their hiring processes, contributing to longer job search timelines for many. Thank you for Reading this. Subrata Kr Ghosh 🙏🙏🙏💐

It’s time we rethink how we approach resume gaps—especially in a post-COVID world where so many careers have been disrupted. Let’s be real: Life happened over the last few years. 😷COVID changed everything, and for many, layoffs, health issues, and caregiving responsibilities turned their career paths upside down. Now, the average worker is spending more than six months on the job market. 📆 So why are we still treating resume gaps like red flags? 🚩 Here’s the reality: We’re hiring humans—not machines. 🤖 And in today’s world, no one’s career is a perfect straight line. Just like there’s no perfect candidate or perfect job. 💼 The longer positions stay open, the longer qualified people remain stuck in a holding pattern, unable to contribute their skills. Hiring managers, it’s time to let go of the search for the “ideal” candidate with a flawless resume. Gaps aren’t failures—they’re part of a bigger story of resilience, adaptability, and growth. The hiring process is broken, and it’s time we fix it by valuing the whole person, not just their uninterrupted career timeline. So, how do we move forward? How can we create a hiring process that’s human-centered and reflective of the world we actually live in today? Let’s start the conversation. 👇🏾 #HiringHumans #Layoffs #CareerResilience #WorkforcePivot #HRLeadership #FutureOfWork #COVIDImpact #BrokenHiringProcess

🌟 Hey everyone, Lasha here, recruiter at PCG! 🌟 Just a friendly recruiter tip for today: Don't judge a candidate solely by their resume's jumps! A jumpy resume can mean various things, such as: 1️⃣ Exploring Different Industries: Candidates might have explored different industries to find their passion and now are ready to commit to their ideal role! 2️⃣ Contract or Project Work: Many talented professionals take on contract or project-based roles to broaden their skills and experience! 3️⃣ Life Circumstances: Personal or family reasons could prompt candidates to move locations or shift industries. Layoffs are also unforeseen and do not reflect on employee performance. Remember, a jumpy resume doesn't necessarily mean a bad candidate. It often reflects a diverse skill set, adaptability, and a quest for growth. Embrace the richness of experiences each candidate brings to the table! 💼✨ #RecruitmentTips #diversityintalent Pyramid Consulting Group, LLC

Don't place so much emphasis on your CV that you forget recruiters are humans too. If you keep getting rejections after tweaking your CV multiple times, it may not be you, sometimes it's them. Most times, recruiters and companies don't really know what they want. Many companies spend a lot and still end up hiring the wrong people. I've heard cases of mass layoffs after a seasonal hire. Many companies fail in their business processes too. Again, it may not be you, it may be them. If you must grow in career, you don't necessarily need a full-time job to do that. You can take on projects that showcase your skills, engage in entrepreneurship hustle, try out personal community projects, and grow your network. Your power lies in your Skills, Your power lies in your Competence. Your power lies in your Growth Capacity. Your power lies in your Experience. Your power lies in your ability to sell your service. Your power lies in your Networks. If the job isn't coming, utilize your powers to build sustainable entrepreneurial competence. Don't let rejections make you feel bad. You have great worth! You have so much to offer! A job can't determine your Worth.

If you are interviewing a candidate, this one is for you. Worrying about a gap in someone's work history is an outdated idea. If someone hasn't been working for 6 months, it doesn't necessarily mean anything negative. They might be; - Struggling to find the job that suits them. - Being selective (which is okay, we all do that). - Attending school. - Or simply taking some personal time. Top of all, we have seen frequent layoffs and companies shutting down, so this whole worry about resume gaps is unreal. #Interviewing #Hiring #ResumeGaps

I believe it's essential to look beyond resume gaps when evaluating candidates. Instead of overlooking individuals due to these gaps, let's take a moment to understand their circumstances. In my experience, I faced very few gaps in my career journey: • Gap 1: Due to organizational restructuring, I was impacted by company layoffs. • Gap 2: I took time off to care for my young daughter, prioritizing family responsibilities. • Gap 3: A role I undertook didn't align with expectations, leading to a transition. By openly discussing these gaps, we can gain a holistic view of a candidate's background and potential fit for a role. Let's foster a culture of understanding and inclusivity in the hiring process. #Recruitment #ResumeGaps #CareerJourney

What are your thoughts on 'job hopping?' As a recruiter, my hiring managers are always hyper sensitive to this. I believe in giving every candidate a fair chance, considering the circumstances, especially post-2020. Reasons for leaving jobs are often complex and not always evident on resumes. These could range from layoffs to seeking personal growth that's not being provided or escaping toxic work environments. Each case deserves individual evaluation and an open-minded approach, as most 'job hopping' is justifiable. Does that require a little more effort? Yeah. But #whatif you don't give someone a chance that would have been perfect? P.S. Resume tip - Including the reason for leaving, particularly after a lay-off, can provide valuable context to potential employers and prevent you from being excluded from an interview. #Recruitment #JobHopping #Resumes #Hiring #CareerAdvice
