Yesterday, I had the great pleasure of returning back to #StanstedAirportCollege, where I presented the recent and inaugural initiative launched by the #theaircharterassociation — the first of its kind: The ACA '75' Internship Programme. ✈ Marking the #75thanniversary of the association, as #Chair of the #NGG, it was a privilege to showcase this rare opportunity, which enables students financially and educationally and prepares them socially for the next stage of their journey. By providing them with the necessary skills and experience, the ACA '75' Internship Programme paves the way for the #nextgeneration and a purposeful entry into #businessaviation. This initiative intrinsically supports #UNSDG4; Quality Education, #UNSDG5; Gender Equality, #UNSDG8; Decent Work and Economic Growth and #UNSDG10; Reduced Inequalities. A core theme that arose from my engagement with the #NextGen was, as anticipated, #sustainability. As an industry, we are continuously striving to achieve higher sustainability; navigating the nuances and embedding more purposeful decisions leading to more environmentally and socially ethical actions. For aviation to be truly sustainable in the #longterm, we need the next generation, and they need us. The ACA calls for all members who are willing to provide this opportunity. Access the resource below to learn more and complete this short webform to register your workplace offering: https://lnkd.in/ebQ9ZYyG #SustainableAviation #SharethePotential

Attention everyone! Save the children is hiring! I know there are so many people that are looking right now! And hope someone will see this! Please consider reposting this to your network for reach! Start of image transcript: The image depicts a flag fluttering in the wind, creating a dynamic sense of movement and flow. The fabric feels smooth and silky, with each stripe of the flag carrying a distinct texture and meaning. Starting from the left, the flag has a section that feels firm and vibrant, representing a sense of boldness and pride. This section has a triangle shape with a rough texture, symbolizing the intersectionality of identities. The triangle features stripes that feel layered, each stripe’s texture slightly different, ranging from smooth to coarse, representing the diversity within the community. The first stripe within the triangle is soft and warm, evoking a feeling of comfort and inclusiveness. Following this, there are stripes that feel both rough and smooth, suggesting the challenges and resilience of different identities. The triangle also includes a smooth circle, centered and raised, symbolizing unity and wholeness. As the flag extends to the right, it transitions into horizontal stripes that feel smooth and silky, fluttering freely. Each stripe has a unique texture, from a slightly raised, velvety feel to a cool, satin-like touch, representing the spectrum of identities and experiences within the community. The movement of the flag in the wind creates a tactile sensation of waves and ripples, evoking a sense of continuous flow and progression. The background feels open and airy, suggesting a broad, expansive sky, enhancing the feeling of freedom and visibility. The overall tactile experience of this flag conveys a strong sense of pride, diversity, and unity, with each section and texture representing different aspects of the community it symbolizes. #pridemonth #inclusion #hiring

We need strong measures to make sure that the situation and needs of persons belonging to one or more vulnerable groups are taken into account in the design and delivery of apprenticeships, to achieve equality, diversity and social inclusion. Gender equality and balance must be promoted in all aspects of apprenticeships, including in access to training, in order to stop the reproduction of gender segregation in the labour market. ILO Recommendation 208 calls for the promotion, development and delivery of quality apprenticeships that take into account these aspects and provide the best learning opportunities and experiences to all. 🌎🌎 It is time to build a more resilient society with #QualityApprenticeship for all. #R208 #ILO #DecentWork #youthemployment

What is diversity and inclusion??? Even I don't know till I did internship in saradha Valley Development samathi My recent internship at Saradha Valley Development Samithi, an NGO supporting the LGBTQ+ community, was a transformative experience. It challenged my own pre-conceived notions about diversity and inclusion. Prior to this internship, I must admit, I held some misconceptions about the LGBTQ+ community. However, through interaction and personal stories, I came to a profound realization: we are all human beings deserving of equal opportunity and respect. This experience resonated deeply with my aspirations for a career in Human Resources. It solidified my belief that talent should be the sole criterion for opportunity, regardless of gender identity or sexual orientation. This realization aligns perfectly with the growing emphasis on Diversity and Inclusion (D&I) within organizations. While D&I is a frequently used term, translating it into action is where the true challenge lies. I am optimistic that organizations will increasingly embrace D&I principles, fostering workplaces that celebrate the unique contributions of every individual. #diversity #inclusion #internship

On August 23rd, we convened a dynamic roundtable to address a critical topic in education: ‘𝐀𝐜𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐜 𝐈𝐧𝐜𝐥𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧’ for LGBT+ students. This thoughtful conversation brought together 9 passionate students to discuss the practices that can help create a more inclusive climate in educational institutions. Our dialogue was rich with insights and actionable takeaways, focusing on how academic activities and conversational spaces can be leveraged to support and uplift LGBT+ students. Here are some of the key takeaways from the discussion: 1. As systemic racism and the imperative of decolonizing development took center stage, IYF embarked on a profound introspection. We conducted surveys and developed an action plan accordingly to strengthen diversity, equity, and inclusion within our organization. Our #4toSoar initiative outlines concrete actions targeting four key areas: 1️- Equity in Internships: We're revising policies to ensure equitable access for all young people. From BIPOC to LGBTQ+ youth, we're removing barriers and fostering diverse talent pipelines. 2️- Representation Matters: We're committed to increasing BIPOC staff at all levels, setting concrete goals, revising recruitment strategies, and removing systemic barriers. 3️- Diversity Training: Diversity, equity, and inclusion will become fundamental to how we work. From mandatory DEI training to context-specific onboarding, we're embedding these principles into our organizational DNA. 4️- Community Engagement: Youth voices will steer our commitment to localization. We're reexamining partnerships, prioritizing BIPOC-led organizations, and pushing for DEI conversations within the INGO community. Our journey towards diversity, equity, and inclusion is ongoing. Stay tuned for updates on our progress and join us in championing change within our spheres of influence. Together, we can create a more equitable world. ➡️To learn more: https://ow.ly/9Oj150SoBjM #YouthEmpowerment #Inclusion #Equality #Diversity #IYF #TransformingLivesTogether

Incredible Oceans CIC have been lucky enough to have been awarded a Pride in STEM award to a) help bring the ocean into LGBTQ+ spaces & vice versa. The idea is to help increase diversity & LGBTQ+ visibility within ocean spaces. Collaborating with Emily May Armstrong PhD, we’re inviting both groups along to a series of online sessions to help coproduce the content of the show instead of us assuming what both communities want. The idea is to take ocean literacy / communication into underserved communities but instead of us assuming what they want, we are co-developing the content / output so that the community feels ownership over it as well as it being better received and fit for purpose. It would also be nice to to diversify the ocean space which is notoriously undiverse due to reliance on unpaid internships/ volunteering. We are hoping that as well as generating a new presentation / show, we’ll also develop some new resources that will help increase diversity & inclusion within the ocean sector. We're also looking forward to bringing different people together, having fun and learning new things! We’ve got three workshop sessions coming up. Please sign up at https://lnkd.in/e6x_KCHx & spread the word across your networks! #PrideInSTEM #sciencecommunication #queerecologies #diversityinscience

Hey everyone! So, just the other day, I was scrolling through WhatsApp and came across a status update from one of our Nwa Girl beneficiaries. She was celebrating the amazing friendships she’s built over the past year through our apprenticeship project. And it really hit me—this is what it's all about! Yes, it’s about learning a skill, but it’s also about forming these lifelong bonds, these real connections that continue to grow and support them. At Ashake Foundation, we’re so passionate about women supporting women. Our Nwa Girl apprenticeship project, which is inspired by the traditional Igbo Nwa Boy system, goes beyond just teaching skills. We’re creating a space where women can collaborate, learn, and really lift each other up. It's not just about economic empowerment—it’s about building a sisterhood, promoting gender equality, and showing the power of what happens when women come together. These relationships and the camaraderie we foster through the program are so important, and it’s a reminder that we are stronger together. So, let’s keep supporting women, and let’s build more communities like this where we all rise together. That’s what the Ashake Foundation is all about. #WomenEmpoweringWomen #NwaGirlProject #AshakeFoundation #StrongerTogether #Sisterhood #Camaraderie #GenderEquality #SkillAndSupport #WomenInCollaboration #EmpowerHer
