At LetsVenture, after having launched the 1x1 program for #founders with #LVElite, we are now changing the format to be a 6 week cohort-based program called #LVEliteStudio. The approach remains the same - we continue to work 1x1 with founders, but we have added the cohort-based learning where we will have a community and learning / discussions in a closed group. A hybrid of cohort based learning, with 1x1 time spent with #founders ensures we provide best time-based outcomes. We have always believed time is our most important currency as founders, and this is a effort to tweak the format that should work best. The first cohort will focus on any #founder building for Bharat. In the last 3 months, I have written cheques to some amazing founders with the same thesis and I believe there are more startups we should meet. We are seeing better solutions for Bharat come from #Tier2/3 cities - so please help us reach out to your network. The culmination of the 6 week program would be a closed door pitching to VC/funds and a spot to pitch at #LetsIgnite2025 in Bangalore. We plan to pick only 10 startups for the cohort. I LOVE attending Startup Weekends. The first Startup Weekend I went to in Alaska I barely understood what a startup was but Gretchen Fauske had sat in my salon chair and convinced me to check it out. I went, I pitched and I failed. 😆 I used the word cosmetology in my pitch and the majority of people in the audience thought I was talking about astrology. So, no one picked my idea to work on that weekend. However, I did win a memorable round of rock paper scissors. I attended another Startup Weekend later pitching a "fun" idea called Thread Counts - it was up-cycled fast fashion material turned into 3D printed fabric and sold as custom clothing (like a 3D printed up-cylced material + Inchochino). It was a hot mess. Candy FitzPatrick was the last teammate standing by the time we pitched. We both learned valuable lessons about staying open to the process, pivoting, staying curious and getting very #uncomfy. It makes me laugh now and I am so glad we had this experience! During both of those experiences I gained incredible relationships that went on to support me in the process of becoming a winner of the next Startup Weekend I attended. They evolved with me through building my business which is now BeautyVoyage, a marketplace platform that connects Beauty Professionals to get paid to skill share with their peers. I will be missing this years Startup Weekend in AK because I will be preparing BeautyVoyage for Techstars Demo Day in NYC. It's a full circle moment for me and I am so grateful for our local startup community! I have a life goal of going on a world tour of Startup Weekends. No matter what stage you are in of an entrepreneurial journey just by participating you get an immersive experience on learning about world problems, brilliant community members, communication, listening, team, leadership, and emotional agility. Most importantly you get to practice the life long process of not being afraid to fail. Stay curious and have fun out there.
