🌊🐠 Today is my 90th Day as Operations Manager at Scarborough Sea Life! 🐠🌊 What an incredible journey it’s been! Over the past three months, I’ve dived into my role, guided by our Merlin values: We Care, Own Your Craft, Drive and Discover, Go Together, and Enjoy the Ride. ✨ Highlights so far: We Care: a welcoming environment has been priority for both our guests and team members, ensuring everyone feels valued and heard! -Own Your Craft: I’ve taken ownership of optimising our operations, implementing best practices that enhance efficiency and elevate guest experiences. - Drive and Discover: We’ve successfully launched several new initiatives that not only boost guest engagement but also drive our commercial success—always looking for innovative ways to grow! -Go Together: Collaboration has been key! I’ve worked closely with our talented team to streamline processes and ensure everyone is aligned towards our common goals. ( one of these goals is to make Scarborough THE best Sea Life!) -Enjoy the Ride: The journey has been filled with challenges and triumphs, and I’m excited about the positive momentum we’ve built together. One of the biggest successes in the past 90 days is the relaunch of the Your Voice Counts Committee! This initiative empowers all team members to share their ideas, ensuring that every voice contributes to our operational excellence. Here’s to many more successful days ahead, working together to make a lasting impact! 🌊 I'm incredibly excited about 2025. for a little Treat ( or Trick?) here's a picture of me dressed as Dennis Nedry from Jurassic park for Halloween today ( Fish are paid actors) ((don't know why the image looks like it was taken on a potato .)) #ScarboroughSeaLife #First90Days #MerlinValues #YourVoiceCounts #OperationalExcellence #Teamwork

Starting a new season in your life came be intimidating 📖! But when your Chapter 1 begins with poms poms, cheers, and a Red Carpet - it is a story that anyone can get on board on 🎉. This Monday we welcomed over 50 New Cohearts that started a new story in their life today. While everyone’s Chapter at Southwest Airlines begins the same, the next page to the next Chapter embarks a different journey, as our New Hires venture to the Flight of Their life into their own Careers ⬇️! 💙 A Cohearts Chapter 2 can lead them to helping one of our customers board our plane. 💖 A Cohearts Chapter 3 could be analyzing the latest technology to help modernize our operation. 💛 A Cohearts Chapter 4 could be flying 150 passengers to their next destination. Like every happy story, there is a plot twist where one may encounter. At times we may go through turbulences that may cause us to challenge ourselves. However, no matter what happens through that turbulence, we have each other to ensure we land safely. And despite our differences at Southwest Airlines, we all land the same way; by being #ONETeam – no matter what chapter we may be in our #SWALife ✨. Where are you in your story 📚 ? Rather you are in the planning phase of your career, in the middle of your professional journey, or heading towards your Happy Ending – we all start somewhere, and for many it starts today! Happy Monday 💙💖💛! #recruiting #networking #jobseekers #SouthwestHeart #jobseekers #mondaymotivation #motivation #opportunities #letsconnect #aviation #culture

🥕 Happy International Carrot Day! 🥕 Today, we celebrate not just a vegetable that's nutritious and versatile, but also a concept deeply rooted in our corporate culture - the idea of offering "carrots" to our employees. 😉 In the spirit of International Carrot Day, let's take a moment to appreciate the "carrots" we provide and receive in our professional lives. These incentives, whether they be recognition, bonuses, or opportunities for growth, drive us forward, fuel our motivation, and nourish our passion for our work, much like the humble carrot nourishes our bodies. 🧡 As we enjoy this day, let's reflect on how we can offer more "carrots" in our workplaces. How can we better recognize and reward the efforts of those around us? How can we cultivate an environment where motivation and positive reinforcement are at the heart of what we do? 💪 Let's commit to creating a culture where everyone feels valued, recognized, and driven—not by the stick, but by the enticing promise of carrots, in all their forms. 🤝 #InternationalCarrotDay #EmployeeMotivation #CorporateCulture #Recognition #Incentives #tharizone

Strategic Subscription Advisory | Improving revenue quality for B2B premium subscriptions and memberships
London, here I come! It's been a few weeks since my first in person team workshop in a long while. Now I'm heading back to share my findings after diving deep with the team's chosen customer segments. Then the very next day I'm running my next team workshop for another exciting subscription brand who want to get up close with their ideal customers. I would say no rest for the wicked, but the pain au chocolat is as wicked as I get. Newquay airport is the best IMO!

I often talk to my team about how important it is to solve for the customer. The beautiful thing about our two-sided marketplace is that our teams have the opportunity to make an impact for two kinds of 'customers': helping would-be holiday-makers discover new and amazing destinations that they almost certainly wouldn't have found without #groupon and help our hotel and tour partners achieve their revenue goals. Getting great feedback like we did this week from one of Haley Bolinger's hotel partners reminded me of one of the key reasons why we do what we do. #winwinwin #travel #helpbusinessesgrow
Great people make great companies and when we get feedback from a partner like this we want to shout about it! 👏 Kudos to Haley Bolinger on our Travel Team! 🌟

Charleston's charm isn't just in its picturesque landscapes and historical architecture but also in the unique ways one can explore its rich history. One memorable chapter in my job journey found me selling carriage tour tickets, an experience that not only introduced me to the heart of Charleston but also offered invaluable lessons in sales, communication, and connection. Mastering the Walkie-Talkie In the bustling streets, coordinating tours meant mastering communication via walkie-talkie amidst the chaos of peak tourist season. It was a dance of listening intently and speaking clearly, making swift decisions to optimize each carriage's capacity. This experience honed my skills in efficient communication and decision-making, essential tools in any fast-paced environment. The Art of Engagement Engaging passersby with questions like, "How many pralines do you think this pigeon has eaten today?" became my strategy to spark conversations and, eventually, connections. Selling became less about transactions and more about creating memorable interactions, teaching me the value of genuine engagement and the resilience needed to face rejection with grace. Embracing Boredom In quieter moments, I learned to appreciate boredom as an opportunity for creativity and reflection. Whether devising new strategies to attract attention, befriending pigeons, or simply enjoying my thoughts, these moments of stillness were surprisingly fruitful. They reminded me of the importance of being present and finding joy in simplicity. Bonus: Animal Companionship Beyond the sales, my time at Olde Towne Carriage deepened my appreciation for the non-human residents of Charleston. Caring for Belgian draft horses retired from Amish farms was a rewarding experience that underscored the significance of empathy and caretaking, further enriching my summer of learning and growth. "What unconventional job have you had that taught you unexpected lessons?" Selling carriage tour tickets was more than a summer job; it was a journey into the heart of Charleston, filled with laughter, learning, and the occasional praline-fed pigeon. But most importantly, it was a reminder that every interaction, no matter how brief, is an opportunity to connect and make a lasting impression. I realized I wanted to be a tour guide. #Charleston #SalesSkills #CustomerEngagement #PersonalGrowth

After a long career at sea, I discovered that leaving yacht life isn't just about finding a new job—it's about rediscovering who you are when the uniform comes off. In my latest blog post, I dive deep into the unexpected challenge every yachtie faces on land: separating your authentic self from the identity you built at sea. From unconsciously adopting crew accents to questioning which parts of your "yachtie self" are truly you, this transition goes far deeper than most realize. If you're considering making the leap to land, or know someone who is, this raw and honest exploration of the post-yachting identity journey might just be the compass you need. Click the link below to read the full story of how I can transform this challenging transition into an opportunity for profound personal growth. 🚢➡️🌍 #YachtLife #CareerTransition #PersonalGrowth #Yachting #YachtCrew #LifeAtSea
