Start the week off with an organized pantry, especially with lunches to be made every morning for the kiddos. 1. Sort out the expired food; discard 2. Sort out the food that's been sitting on the shelves forever - that no one likes; donate 3. Organize what's left by category 4. Store quick grab items for the kiddos at easy to reach locations and in open baskets to create independence and self-service - store less frequently used items or adult style food higher up. 5. Label those baskets and shelves for ease of storage and retrieval. #AnOrganizedLife #OrganizeYourLife #AndOrganizedKitchen #OrganizedPantry #KitchenOrganizing #PantryOrganizing #BostonOrganizer #BestBostonOrganizer #SudburyOrganizer #BestSudburyOrganizer #NewtonOrganizer #BestNewtonOrganizer #LexingtonOrganizer #BestLexingtonOrganizer

Chobani's new 'Super Milk' hit shelves with a first stop at Idaho food pantries. Chobani donated 3,000 cases of Super Milk to the The Idaho Foodbank after launching on Tuesday. Super Milk has 25% less sugar and 50% more protein than average milk and can stay on shelves for nine months. Once put in the refrigerator, the milk needs to be consumed within two weeks. Chobani will be donating products to food banks within Idaho and New York, where processing facilities are located. In 2022, over 220,000 Idahoans experienced food insecurity. Idaho Foodbank CEO, Randy Ford, said, "[Food banks] don't have to have refrigerated transportation. They don't have capacity constraints on their coolers within their pantries. And it really allows for that access to be made across the state to all of our neighbors that are experiencing food insecurity." 🔗 Read full story at https://bit.ly/3W4fZPy #Chobani #SuperMilk #DairyProcessing #Innovation #Generosity #FoodBank #Idaho #NewProduct

You can take that to the BANK! The Food Bank. This is the season where many of us donate to families in need. Sone important things you might want to consider: if you are planning on helping families at a food bank this season, things you probably don’t know; BOXED MILK is a treasure, as kids need it for cereal which they get a lot of. They receive awesome canned veggies and soup but they need CAN OPENERS or POP TOP CANS. SPICES or SALT and PEPPER would be a real gift. TEA BAGS and COFFEE make them feel like you care. SUGAR and FLOUR are treats. TUNA (pop top) and CRACKERS make a good lunch. They get lots of peanut butter and jelly but usually not SANDWICH BREAD. BUTTER or MARGARINE is nice too. EGGS are a real commodity. CAKE MIX and FROSTING makes it possible to make a child’s birthday cake. DISHWASHING and LAUNDRY DETERGENT are very expensive and always appreciated. FEMININE PRODUCTS are a luxury and women will cry over that. In all the years I have donated food, I brought what I thought was wanted, and then finally asked. I'm so glad that I did. If you are helping families in need no this Holiday Season, please consider these recommendations. Please SPREAD THE WORD #donate #foodbanks #food #generosity

🪴 FRESHFARM believes that everyone deserves access to healthy, locally grown produce. This is why we offer the Market Share, our weekly produce box, at steeply discounted rates for individuals experiencing food insecurity in the Washington, DC metro area. Your donation this spring can directly support neighbors using SNAP benefits by helping them access weekly fresh food at a low cost. 🪴 Last year, the generosity of our community ensured that 346 low-income shoppers received healthy, farm-fresh food every single week. Your gift will make a real difference for local families. One neighbor, Marina, explains, “The share has been a huge help, to just have more food, and to be able to buy less from the grocery store. My two children eat way more fruits and vegetables; they generally eat way healthier.” 🪴 Every Market Share purchased through donations also directly supports small- and mid-sized farmers in the FRESHFARM network, many of whom are traditionally under-represented in farming. With a gift today, you can support local farmers and help your neighbors bring home local produce. 🪴 Your gift of $80 provides a month of groceries for a family of four; or a gift of $20 can support the family for a week. We can lower food insecurity in our region, one family at a time, but we can only do it with the help of caring neighbors like you! Donate to put affordable food in reach for your neighbors!: https://bit.ly/3QDLpdZ #FRESHFARM #SpringAppeal . . . #dcfarmersmarkets #foodaccess #foodsecurity #SNAPmatters #SNAPEBT #SNAPacceptedHere #mdfarmersmarkets #vafarmersmarkets #foodismedicine

Are you a farmer, or do you know a farmer (even a small one)? If so, this post is for you. Here's a way to help with food insecurity (and there's a potential tax advantage for donating crops (as a CPA, I can't not help but mention that 😉)). #dailybreadfoodbank #farmers #taxdeduction
Daily Bread’s Farm to Food Bank program works directly with farmers across the province to provide food insecure communities with access to fresh and nutritious produce, while at the same time, helping divert naturally imperfect fruits and vegetables that would otherwise end up in landfills. Today, on National Food Day, we're grateful for these relationships with farm partners like R & M TINDALL FARM, L.L.C., who donate over 50 types of fruits and vegetables through the program. Together, we facilitate the distribution of local produce to hundreds of food programs for our neighbours who need it most. Our tagline of “Fresh, Local Food For All” is more than just words: it’s the philosophy we embrace every day. We firmly believe that everyone who lives in North Carolina should have access to the healthy, nutritious, beautiful food that’s grown here. This year, we will contribute 850,000 pounds of local food to the emergency food system – that’s the equivalent of 700,000 meals! Just this week, we were able to deliver 28,640 pounds of nutrient-rich local produce to partner organizations across the Triangle, thanks to the support of our community! In partnership with multiple direct-service agencies, 716 boxes of North Carolina-grown produce and proteins are on their way to our neighbors experiencing food insecurity. We hope you’ll consider helping us grow our hunger relief work in 2024.
