What do you do to get you ready for an important meeting, a presentation, an evaluation, etc? I use "walk up music" (baseball players use it to walk up to bat) but I call it "Cheer music." It's any music with motivational/inspirational lyrics to put me in the right frame of mind. I put it on a continuous loop to get my mind in the right place. Music for better focus? Over the last year, I have noticed that I can focus better and work faster when I listen to electronic music - like the one below. It's the latest gem I have discovered. This is especially true for longer stretches of focused work on texts or building a structure for a website. The music energizes me and carries me through the tasks. “The right choice of music, such as instrumental or ambient music, can help block out distractions, improve concentration, and maintain attention during study sessions.” This quote is from an article on "The Benefits of Listening to Music When Studying" published by the University of Maryland. 🎸Don’t be a cover band. Sing your own songs. It’s true. Be original. But then, it is also true that you can “steal like an artist” and transcend the original. That’s what happens when Jørgen Dahl Moe covers Bruce Springsteen’s iconic 1984 hit “Dancing in the Dark”.
