I left corporate over 10 years ago. Here are the main reasons: 1/ I wanted freedom while in prime health. 2/ I wanted to work for myself 3/ I wanted to live abroad. But I was impatient. And feared I may not be able to do them at 65. In ‘Die With Zero’, Bill Perkins states for MAX enjoyment, you need these 3 things: 1/ Free time 2/ Wealth 3/ Health But in retirement, you’ll typically have 1 and 2, but 3 will be lagging. You may be in ‘good’ health – but not as fit and durable as in your 30s. The golden years should be when you can maximize ALL 3 – between the late 20s and late 40s. I left at 33 – without Perkins’s insight. But it has cemented by mindset: The goal of life isn’t to maximize wealth. It’s to maximize enjoyment. And if we slave away in our prime years to have lots of cash later, when we can’t fully enjoy it.. Thanksgiving week is here! 🦃 It feels like every year the Christmas decorations pop up earlier?? For many sales professionals, this can be a time to ease off the gas and take it slow. For others, it’s an opportunity to double down, grab market share, and outwork the competition while they’re asleep at the wheel. In my view, it’s all about balance. This time of year is perfect for recalibrating and focusing on these five areas: 1️⃣ Refocus on your well-being. Recharge so you can close Q4 strong. If hitting the gym feels impossible, try going to bed an hour earlier and waking up earlier to squeeze it in. Not into the gym? Try meditation, journaling, or even a brisk walk to clear your head and set the tone for a productive day. Taking care of yourself first will help you accomplish more in less time. 2️⃣ Lock in your 2025 business plan—now. Don’t wait until January! Start implementing your goals today and get ahead of the curve. Why put off tomorrow what you can start today? Future-you will thank you for the head start. 3️⃣ Celebrate your relationships. Take time to connect with business partners, referral sources, and clients. Share your gratitude, listen to their goals, and show them you’re invested in their success. This is a chance to deepen relationships and set the tone for next year. 4️⃣ Prioritize fun and meaningful connections. Work with people you genuinely enjoy being around. Seek out those with shared interests and build real friendships, not just transactional relationships. When you enjoy the people you work with, success feels even sweeter. 5️⃣ Reflect and assess. Why age shouldn’t mean less fun. Yesterday, I was accused (nicely) of bringing glitter and disco balls to the proverbial party: For me, whatever we do should be fun in some format; Yes, we have many tough things in life to deal with; But we can find ways to thread fun through our lives and even these tough situations; Ultimately, our time is limited, so what is the point if we’re not having fun along the way? Age can be a killer of fun, but it really shouldn’t be: There is no age limit on fun, only the limit that we set for ourselves; Look at the older couple who went to Fabric nightclub for years in their retirement; they did not limit themselves; So, next time you feel you are doing something you are too old to do, ask yourself if it is fun; if the answer is yes, crack on; Ultimately, we have control of our foolish urge to self-limit. Thanksgiving is prob one of my favorite holidays Why? Because it's just about the things that matter; none of the materialistic nonsense that comes with December holidays (watch the new "Just Buy" doc on Netflix if you want to drive this point home) Things like: -Family -Friends -Food -Football Well; last one I really don't care about; but being in the south I pretend to care. What am I grateful for? On the personal side: My daughter turned 5 this year; she's finally off to school. She's becoming a fiercely independent, smart young girl. The best parts of my day are around here; it sounds cliche; but it's true. Having a kid has made me a better, less selfish person. The 1st couple years of parenthood were hard (infant + COVID = sucked) & I wasn't sure about being a parent (real talk) My wife & I continue to grow our relationship. We are fairly aligned on goals & she's made it possible for me to be the person I am today. On the business side (I mean this is Linkedin, right?) 2024 marks the end of 5 years of being a solo founder & business owner. We hit a revenue goal that I could only have imagined when I started. I'm able to take care of the two woman in my life. I feel fully confident that I'll never need to get a job again; I may not do what I'm doing forever, but I have the skills to turn assets into cash flowing assets. This year I became owner in 2 other local / service based businesses. I've helped 10+ people earn a consistent / reliable income along the way. We've worked with 40+ different brands this year & met dozens of fantastic owners / operators / team members along the way. Was the year perfect? F no Tons of mistakes, failures, lessons, stressful ass days; but at the end of the day everything is hard; so make sure the hard you choose is worth the effort. These are the weeks you need to pause, reflect & assess the wins

Here’s what the holidays with my family really taught me as a seller (just kidding! Report my LI if I do this). The holidays are a time for doing a check-in, so here’s my wish for you this December: • Spend quality time with the people who matter. • Be kind to your coworkers :) They’re the people you share so much of your time with, and kindness goes a long way. The rat race serves no one. • Do something, even small, that makes you feel accomplished before the year wraps up. Whether it’s walking around the block or finally reading that one page of that book. • Pick up a hobby. You have the time! Something that clears your mind from the stress of Q4 chaos. • Make space for meaningful connections, ditch the clutter, and say yes to seeing your friends (but mostly hydrate, hydrate, hydrate! You'll have more energy this way). • Empower yourself daily with words that uplift you, and let go of anything (or anyone) that no longer serves you, make plans to leave that job that is not making you happy. • Oh, and maybe finally make that one investment, maybe on a meme coin, you’ve been pondering... Because, at this point, you can't deny it's making people money. Cheers to closing the year strong and starting fresh in 2025!
