Little announcement time! Over the past few months, I've been immersed in a project stemming from my MA studies in Arts Management and Heritage Studies. It began as a concept to shake up the conventional museum narrative in a museum intervention module, But instead of merely intervening, I opted to create an entirely new museum experience, drawing inspiration from esteemed institutions. Enter the Wunderkammer, a venture delving into the concept of museum language and categorization. I imagined a 16th century cabinet of curiosity, blown up to the size of the British Museum, and fashioned it as a guidebook, ushering readers through the whimsical world of a museum where nothing is quite as it seems. Then last year, building from my initial concept, I began expanding the Wunderkammer into a comprehensive website. I meticulously examined both the physical and digital layout of museums. What events did they prioritize? How did the architecture influence visitor experience? What stories did their exhibitions tell, and why? I probed into the essence of a museum, beyond its collections to its branding, identity and aims. The resulting website is an ongoing endeavour where visitors can immerse themselves in the museum's events, delve deeper into our collections and exhibitions, peruse the full guidebook, and explore insightful essays on our blog. No detail is overlooked. I encourage you to navigate through the FAQs, glance over the café menu, and attempt to decipher the visit directions. The Wunderkammer even boasts a lively social media presence, showcasing my own designs and branding. The Wunderkammer has been a multi-faceted exploration, delving into research, copyrighting, art and web design, wayfinding, and much more. Fortunately, my academic background in museum theory and my hands-on experience creating and managing a website provided a solid foundation. It's a privilege to merge these two realms into a passion project that brings me genuine joy. Drawing from a tapestry of life experiences, from places I've visited to those I aspire to explore, and from topics that ignite my curiosity, the Wunderkammer bears traces of books I've devoured, quotes I've internalized, and ideas that have captivated me. I trust you'll find as much delight in perusing this creation as I did in crafting it. https://lnkd.in/eFv8SeGX
