Research by the National Centre for Vocational Education Research (NCVER) shows little change in the profile of young people moving into apprenticeships or university over the past 20 years. Peta Skujins, GAN Australia Senior Policy & Insights Manager, participated in the webinar panel discussion. She highlighted that this research is consistent with limited changes in the profile of apprentices and trainees over many years. The apprenticeships sector has a renewed emphasis on improving equality and diversity in apprenticeships and traineeships, and alleviating skills shortages across industries. In the coming months we will be launching a dashboard tracking apprenticeships and traineeships by priority cohorts and looking at international best practice to improve participation. 📈 The latest NCVER report reveals that apprentice and trainee employment outcomes remain strong. 🌟 In 2023, a staggering 95.6% of apprentices and trainees who completed their training in a trade occupation were employed after training, similar to 2022. 🛠️ Most trade completers (70.3%) stayed with the same employer, while 28.0% switched for better job opportunities. 📊 High levels of satisfaction among trade completers with on-the-job and off-the-job training. 💼 For those considering non-trade occupations, the report also highlights a high level of employment post-training (89.7%) and satisfaction with acquired skills. 🎓 To find out more and review the report, go to https://lnkd.in/gWjZ-Uaf #Apprenticeships #Traineeships #EmploymentOutcomes
