Some of my experiences 👇 1. Don't stop yourself to learn something different tech from your project which you are working on. 2. Save your time for your personal space too. 3. Keep distance from office politics. 4. Don't be too close to your manager and don't share your personal life with him/her. 5. Don't put extra effort(to be cool) on which is not relevant for your future. Three months ago, I faced a pivotal career decision: should I stay on my current path or embrace something new? After months of dedication and learning, I'm excited to share that I have joined Capgemini as an Analyst (A4) 🎉. This marks the beginning of an exciting chapter in my career, and I’m incredibly grateful for the support and guidance along the way. During my 9-month learning journey with NxtWave, I honed my technical skills through coding practice, cheat sheets, and hands-on projects 💻. While there were challenges, such as waiting for responses from some placements, the support from the NxtWave team and my peers made a huge difference 💡. The placement team, especially Chaitanya R., helped me navigate the interview process and even assisted with relocation 🗺. I gave interviews with 5-6 companies, learning valuable lessons from each experience 📚. Key takeaways: consistency is crucial ✅, treat interviews as growth opportunities 🌱, and don’t hesitate to seek help from mentors, peers, or tools like ChatGPT 🤝. Thanks to my parents, who have always been my biggest motivation ❤, and my friends, who supported me during tough times 🤗. Every day at TCS feels like I’m stuck in a loop.. • No progress • No excitement • Just more of the same • But NO, here is the truth I'm sharing some of my thoughts on the pros and cons of my journey so far: • Pros ➔ Incredible work-life balance: They take care of almost everything—food, gym, commute, and holidays. ➔ Codebase quality: The deeper you dive into it, the more you appreciate its design, architecture, and overall structure. ➔ Surrounded by brilliant minds: Being around such talent inspires you to stay sharp and keep improving. ➔ Impactful work: The projects here reach millions, sometimes even billions, of people. ➔ Internal tools: The tools are so good that outside companies could build startups around similar concepts. ➔ Strong documentation: Everything is well-documented, which makes team transitions smooth and efficient. • Cons ➔ Too many approvals: Processes can feel slow due to multiple layers of approvals, but this is necessary to avoid risks at such a large scale. ➔ Limited exposure: Most teams don’t work on end-to-end features. Since much of the infrastructure is pre-built, the learning curve can be less steep unless you’re in a core team. ➔ Switching teams and promotions: Changing projects is tough and often involves approvals that might get rejected. Also, the increment percentage is quite low. Here’s to 11 months filled with growth, learning, and some memorable experiences ! FROM APIs to KPIs Today marks a special milestone for me—10 incredible years in the industry. It’s been a journey filled with learning, growth, and countless memorable experiences. Ten years ago, on this very date, I began my professional career as a Trainee at Infosys Limited. I still remember the wonderful time spent on the Mysore campus and the cherished moments outside. 😄 Post training, reality kicked in and life started revolving around projects, deadlines, clients, and more. I still remember the long hours on automation projects, numerous deployments, and most importantly the joy of seeing the lines of code work as expected. I've been fortunate to work with so many talented and inspiring individuals. Each project, collaboration, and challenge has shaped me into the professional I am today. I have learned valuable lessons, developed new skills, and built lasting relationships that I cherish deeply. My colleagues taught me, supported me in troubled times, celebrated with me, and became my family away from home. A major transition came when I decided to switch roles from being technical-centric to people-centric. Pursuing an MBA and then joining Philips was one of the best decisions of my professional life. Starting my HR career in learning was a wonderful experience. What I thought would be a challenging restart turned out to be one of the smoothest transitions, thanks to my supportive team. I had the same remarkable experience when I transitioned to Talent. Starting again from zero and eventually assisting teams in decision-making strategy through various projects and tasks has been a rewarding journey. Today, I want to pause and extend my heartfelt thanks to everyone who has been a part of this journey. Your support, guidance, and encouragement have been invaluable. To my mentors, thank you for sharing your wisdom and helping me navigate the complexities of this field. Today, when I heard that Ratan Tata is no longer with us, it felt like a personal loss. He wasn’t just a business tycoon; he was a dream-maker for people like me. His vision, along with the efforts of his team and the TCS, changed the lives of countless people, and I’m one of those who owe my career to them. Back when it was almost impossible for science graduates to enter the IT world without an engineering degree, Ratan Sir, his team, and TCS came up with the brilliant idea of the TCS Ignite Program. It was a game-changer! They believed in skills and potential, not just paper degrees. That one decision opened doors for people like me, who had the talent but lacked a platform. I still remember how Ignite gave me my first break in the tech industry. It wasn’t just a job; it was a new beginning. It made me believe that even if you don’t have the “right” degree, you can still make it big if given the right chance. And this was all because of the collective belief of his incredible team, and TCS in looking beyond conventional qualifications. Because of them, many science graduates could step into the IT world, build careers, and prove their worth. They didn’t just create opportunities; they created hope.
