The potential for AI in healthcare is huge. It will never replace the healthcare professional but it will act as a valuable tool to help speed up and improve the accuracy of diagnosis. https://lnkd.in/eM_McNEa

After my presentation at the Clyde & Co seminar earlier this month on #telemedicine it's interesting to read today about another example - the proposed use of AI to reduce missed fractures on x-rays. As #clinicalnegligence practitioners we know this can be a common occurrence. NICE says broken bones are missed in 3-10% of cases making it the most common diagnostic error in ED. In our presentation, Bethan Parry and I concluded that a hybrid approach -where the tech is used to assist clinicians rather than relying purely on the tech to diagnose -was probably the use we would see going forwards and it is interesting to see that is what is suggested here. #medicalmalpractice #healthcare #fingeronthepulseofhealthcare https://lnkd.in/eWHBF6Sr
