Shimano's 2024 Half-Year Report: Net Sales Down 20%, but European Market Shows Signs of Recovery! In its half-year report for 2024, Shimano reported that high inventory levels in major markets continue to impact the company. As a result, net sales in Shimano's bicycle division declined by 20.7% compared to the same period last year. However, there is some positive news as the European market shows signs of improvement.

Shimano’s bike-related sales dropped by 20.7% year-over-year in the first half of 2024, reaching ¥162.59 billion ($1.05 billion), with operating income falling 42.2%. Elevated global market inventories and a softening North American market contributed to this decline. However, retail sales in Germany and Benelux remained solid, and demand for specific components like Shimano 105 and GRX was strong. In only 3 months, up to 4 500 customers booked online a #Dacia model on vanzari.dacia.ro, the online sales platform of the brand. As compare with the same period last year, the number of online customers increased with 50%.The models with the highest number of orders were Sandero (including Stepway) and Logan.   Out of the total, more than 3 000 customers took advantage of the special offers available during the second edition of the "Dacia Season" (January 25th - March 15th).
