Perhaps not the only scam happening to pensioners. For Those whose pensions were earned Pre 1997 and are not protected , with no cost of living rises or receive descretioary increases , these pensions have lost more than 30% in value . A loop hole in the law which allows companies to refuse any increases to the pensions of those who are now in their 70’s,80’s and nineties, some extremely vulnerable and need a decent pension. A promise of a good pension in retirement but sadly never delivered by the big corporate companies like Amex, 3M, Pfizer, KPMG, Hewlett-Packard and Goldman Sachs to name but a few. Thousands of pensioners totally ignored by the these big profit making companies and treated with no respect or compassion for the hard work they performed to put these companies where they are today. The law must change so that these companies can’t ignore their responsibilities to their pre 1997 retirees. This needs to be investigated by the TPR, why are pre 1997 pensions different to any other pension years? This injustice must be corrected.
