I Just wrapped up an eye-opening course on Agentic AI led by Zack Kass former Head of GTM at OpenAI. 🤖💡 Three key ethical considerations stood out when implementing AI in business: 1. Undue Semantics: AI's potential blind spot in grasping context. How do we ensure human judgment isn't lost in translation? 2. Blast Radius: The ripple effect of AI failures. In healthcare, a single misstep could be life-altering. How do we measure and mitigate these risks? 3. Principle of Least Privilege: The AI edition of 'Need-to-Know' used in the intelligence/military/business. It's a delicate balance between minimizing risks and enabling AI to function effectively. The course reinforced a crucial point: successful AI integration isn't just about the tech. It's a three-step dance or cycle: 1️⃣ Assess Business Needs 2️⃣ Build an Adaptive AI Strategy 3️⃣ Engage and Train Teams As we navigate this AI revolution, how is your organization addressing these ethical challenges? #AgenticAI #AIEthics #BusinessInnovation #TechStrategy" “Fundamentals of Agentic AI: Business Implications and Ethical Insights” by Zachary M. #2 The Challenge of Rewiring AI AI, once coded, is known to be hard to rewire. Unlike the human brain, which has a natural agility to heal and adapt swiftly, that ability is not there in AI. AI’s hardwiring makes it hard to re-code it even after a system’s launching and malfunctioning. A solution: Building digital #plasticity into AI systems It is possible to make AI more responsive to change. We can create AI systems that learn from empowering #data before, during, and after deployment. Empowering data comes from a soulful #purpose that generates accountability and well-being. That emotionally intelligent approach allows the programming team and AI to keep improving. It also creates powerful #algorithms sensitive to humanity’s needs. You might want to know that Sam Altman from #OpenAI dreams of the day when “AI spills out more words than all of humanity together.” But when Trevor #Noah asked, “How do we teach an AI to learn beyond the limited data we have put into it?” Sam Altman answered, “We don’t know yet.” It’s a conflicted perspective, in my opinion. This article dives into four (4) issues within the AI #race and proposes emotional intelligence insights as a guiding tool to develop responsible AI. 🤖 AI Knows More About Me Than I Imagined – A Reflection on the Power of Advanced AI Systems. Today, I’m sharing an AI-generated image that’s eerily accurate in capturing my current life and work. All I provided was a prompt, and AI filled in the details for me– my workspace, research focus, and even the personal touches that surround my daily grind in the world of research! While it’s fascinating to see AI reaching this level of precision, it’s also a bit unsettling. The AI didn’t just create an image – it drew from conversations, context, and details I’ve shared over time, putting together a picture that feels both insightful and intrusive. It’s a reminder of how much data we share with AI and how quickly it’s learning to understand us. As incredible as these advancements are, they raise big questions: How much should AI know about us? Who has access to this knowledge? And what does this mean for our privacy? AI is undoubtedly powerful, and it’s here to stay. But as we navigate this journey, we must be vigilant about the data we share, the boundaries we set, and the ethical lines we draw. #ArtificialIntelligence #AIFuture #DataPrivacy #EthicsInAI #RenewableEnergy #ResearchJourney #MicrogridOptimization

Why is alignment important? AI alignment ensures AI systems act in ways that benefit humanity and reflect our values. This is crucial for safety, ethical assurance, and public trust. Importance: - Safety: Reduces risks of harmful behaviors. - Ethics: Keeps AI within societal norms. - Trust: Builds public confidence in AI. Challenges: - Complexity: Capturing diverse human values is tough. - Technical Hurdles: Defining clear objectives and ensuring robustness. - Ethical Dilemmas: Prioritizing values can be controversial. - Global Coordination: Achieving international consensus is difficult. - Economic Pressures: Balancing cost with thorough research. - Over-Alignment: Risk of stifling innovation. Navigating these challenges requires diligence and a commitment to the greater good. Let the data speak! Although, society remains at the infancy of AI deployment with LLMs taking the stage early, it is safe to say that we’ve collected sufficient data/information/sample size to discern how impactful AI/its agent(s)/degrees of agency, as well as the often overlooked aspect of how humans impact and can do harm to society. Context matters: Humans as the greatest sources of errors. Humans present such dichotomy to the introduction of AI, in-terms of modus operandi for invention (problem solving of social ills and error mitigation) and weakness as decision-makers. #artifialintelligence #LLM #transformers #datascience #machinelearning #hallucinations #agentassistants

A few months back, I shared the intriguing #ArtificialIntegrity concept by Hamilton Mann, a member of the Thinkers50 Radar Class of 2024, as featured in Forbes (https://lnkd.in/eB-U3Sww). This idea emphasizes the importance of AI tools prioritizing human-centered values, sparking crucial debates on AI integration that bolsters rather than compromises our humanity. Hamilton's latest book, "Artificial Integrity: The Paths to Leading AI Toward a Human-Centered Future," (https://lnkd.in/edAAkaZE) delves deeper into the facets of artificial integrity. This enlightening read offers guidance for individuals and societies navigating the evolving AI landscape, advocating for systems that prioritize ethics and align with human values, going beyond mere intelligence. As we gear up for the "back-to-school" season, Hamilton's book serves as a compelling guide to shape the future of AI, ensuring that these technologies are not just technically proficient but also uphold ethical standards. This essential read allows one to explore how AI can align with human values and enhance our collective well-being.

AI's capabilities are exciting, but the world is still learning. There's an extensive amount of AI vendors in the market today offering products that haven't yet lived up to their potential. As innovative as their ideas are, the product itself might be lacking. If you're a technology leader in healthcare or another highly regulated industry, choosing AI tools that are safe, secure, trustworthy, and high quality is of the utmost importance. We need to sift through the noisy market and focus on partners that match our priorities. Demystifying buzzwords helps us make responsible choices. Even better, I loved Adam Oliner's tough questions to ask AI vendors that assess products' capabilities and limitations. #AI #ResponsibleAI #HealthcareAI #Safety #Security
