Flash floods devastated the elephant sanctuary in Chiang Mai, a place I visited with my daughter just 10 months ago. Two elephants tragically lost their lives, and around 100 others had to be evacuated, along with tourists. My heart breaks for the people and animals affected by this tragedy. This sanctuary holds such a special place in my heart, and seeing this news is a reminder of how fragile life can be. A sanctuary is a safe haven, a place where animals—like elephants—are rescued and given a second chance at life. These elephants are often saved from brutal conditions, such as forced labor, illegal logging, or the tourism industry, where they are made to carry heavy loads or perform unnatural tricks. Many of them come from a life of chains, pain, and neglect. In sanctuaries, they find freedom from their trauma. They're provided with proper care, space to roam, and the opportunity to heal physically and emotionally. Sanctuaries are a symbol of hope, showing that animals can be saved from exploitation and treated with the respect and dignity they deserve. Please keep them in your thoughts and consider supporting rescue efforts if you can. We need your help to protect the 5,000+ animals living in sanctuary. Please donate now to help support ENP’s rescue and repair efforts! ALL DONATIONS WILL BE MATCHED UP TO $100,000! https://bit.ly/408qzZN 🫶🏼 #Thailand #ChiangMai #ClimateChange
