BC Minor Hockey players and parents from the Vancouver U7 Angels, Aldergrove U9 Bruins, and Sunshine Coast U13 C2 Blues celebrated winning the Lordco Minor Hockey Contest with a late afternoon skate at Rogers Arena, home of the Vancouver Canucks. As if skating on the same ice as your hockey idols wasn't exciting enough, the teams received a cash donation presented by Vancouver Canucks Sports & Entertainment (CSE) alumni Kirk McLean, former goalie for the Canucks from 1987-1998, including the 1994 Stanley Cup playoffs.
