Hello, I’m Xinyi. Music has always been an important part of my life since I was a child. I’ve performed in recitals, both in the UK and overseas, and I even met my husband through our love of piano 💚 For something that’s a such a big part of my life, in my old career in consultancy, the work culture meant I didn’t really dare show that side of me. Here as a Data Science Manager, I feel I don’t have to hide my music anymore – I feel proud and encouraged to pursue it. My role focuses on how and why we’re doing things a certain way, and how we can use data to innovate and transform the way we support our customers. So having the support to create a work/life balance that suits me means I can bring my best self to the work I do to be part of this big transformation! Sports makes me a much better Data Scientist, here’s why 👇: ➡️ Being more efficient. Many people think that sports takes time and is less important than other tasks. Yes sport takes time, and that’s why it is great. Because you know that you need to leave the office at a certain time, you force yourself to work faster and more efficiently. Sports won’t make you work less, it will make you work better. ➡️ Gaining confidence. If you start to challenge yourself through sports, and surpass those challenges (which you will), then you start feeling proud of yourself and gain confidence. This will for sure be reflected slightly or heavily on your work as well. Knowing that that you can overcome difficult challenges and solve difficult problems inside and outside working hours is an important skill to develop! ➡️ Feeling better and relaxed. When you do sports, you clean your head of big problems, your relax and feel better. It might take some of your time during the day, but I can assure you that you will be much more productive when you get back to work. What do you think? Does sport make you better at your job? Let me know your thoughts in the comments. #sport #datascientist #machinelearning

Important lessons I learnt this week... It has been a minute here but over the course of the week, I learnt the following lessons ✍ People don't appreciate good people until they lose them ✍ When you have people's best interests at heart, they see you as their enemy while the insincere and pretentious ones get all their accolades. ✍ People take advantage of gentle and soft-spoken people easily. They are their easiest target ✍ If you don't set certain boundaries early, people will see you finish ✍ There is so much wisdom in silence. With it, you can avoid many problems ✍ It costs nothing to be respectful but sadly not everybody understands this ✍ Nothing beats speaking up Experience indeed is the best teacher. I hope you learnt a thing or two from my lessons. Don't wait to be taught by experience, please. How is your week going? Which lessons do you agree with and what has life taught you lately? Please repost if this inspires you ☘Meeting me for the first time? ☘ I am a data analyst and a business strategist. I love sharing my learning journey, offering career tips, discussing data and AI trends, and reviewing tech events. Let's connect and make a positive impact together! #lessons #inspirational #life #wednesday #linkedInforcreators

When people ask why I chose to join Language I/O, the answer isn’t a secret if you’ve been following my journey here on LinkedIn. I was on a personal quest for the right fit — and that search wasn’t easy. Some opportunities had the technology but not the methodology. Others had the methodology, but the timing wasn’t right. And some had incredible technology, but the cultural fit just wasn’t there for me. This decision wasn’t just about finding what worked for me. It was about where I could truly make a difference and have fun doing it. I’m excited to spend the next phase of my career at Language I/O, where both the technology and the people inspire me daily. Here’s to making an impact, growing together, and enjoying every step of the way! See my next post for the answer to why and how this technology is changing language translation with AI, Security, and Scaleability.

Today's lessons with the the interns (and the semester is RAPIDLY coming to an end). Know when to be honest and vulnerable - don't strive to paint a completely rosy picture of the perfect working environment because they'll never find it. Instead spend time talking about developing the skills of listening to hear instead of just respond, how to disagree with respect and empathy, how to use data insights to make your case, how to know when it's time to move on, and why not making your case is not a failure or a reflection on you. These are the lessons that will set them up for a world of success! #BeHuman
