The inaugural visit of the Sun Princess cruise ship to port in Belize City is a great opportunity for international business in the country. With 3,862 passengers arriving, local businesses can benefit from increased demand for goods & services, including tours and restaurants. This surge in tourism enhances Belize’s image as a desirable destination which can then potentially attract more cruise lines and tourists in the future. Moreover, it encourages collaboration between local entrepreneurs and international companies, making way for knowledge exchange and investment opportunities. As a result, like the Belize Tourism Board rightly stated, this event enriches the local economy and drives economic growth. Jobs can be created and Belize’s position in the global tourism market can be strengthened, fostering a more vibrant and diverse economy.

Excited to have attended the recent Destinations International Convention! The event was an excellent opportunity to explore crucial topics that are shaping the future of our industry. One topic that surfaced was cultural tourism; we discussed innovative ways to develop impactful cultural tourism experiences, measure its success, and emphasize the need for experiences that attract visitors from afar. The goal is not just to showcase diverse arts experiences but to create compelling and elevated cultural experiences that drive overnight visitation and support the visitor economy. Another inspiring discussion topic was strategic planning and the focus on “how”. Plans must have real, tangible outcomes. Everyone wants to see actionable plans that drive meaningful and measurable progress, ensuring that the planning effort leads to substantial and positive change. Connecting with industry peers was enriching, reaffirming that the future of tourism is promising and ever-evolving Shirin Jafari, MTA Mitchel Anzivino Michael Christensen Brooke Adamson, MBA Brisa Lee Brian Tress Bernadine Galliver Abigail Harrod #DestinationInternational #JLL #StrategicPlanning #CulturalTourism

I trained in the #tourism sector, it gave me a value for hard work and thought me the importance of the person, the human being in a #business. Today, on tourism day, remember the importance of this sector in our #economy, support it when you can, it is one of the backbone ones in #Ireland. It requires #resilience, #creativity, #innovation, a #solutionmindset and a resolute #commitment to #yourpeople; #customers and #colleagues.
The tourism sector is one we work with and support everyday. It is one of the core sectors that keeps our economy afloat consistently. The Irish tourism sector is one of the hardest working sectors. It is continually challenged and continues to be resilient. Today on tourism day remember to continue to support them when you can as we enter the peak season. #tourismireland #excellence #service #hospitality #tourism #ireland #globaltourism #packaging #engagement #tourismday2024 #innovation #creativity #leadership

When we say tourism what do you think of? Think of all the reasons that people may travel to a new destination whether it's for business or for fun. Other industries that may have a role in tourism most obviously include hospitality and tourist attractions, but what about the other points of interest our visitors come in contact with along the way? Here are just a few of the different types of businesses in our community that are stakeholders in tourism: Restaurants, locally owned and operated boutiques, shopping centers, guides and outfitters, annual festivals, and sports competitions. Let us know in the comments how your business or industry relates to visitors in Casper! #VisitCasper #tourismindustry
