Over the past two weeks, I’ve witnessed patients struggle and even pass away in the intensive care unit. This is why I focus so much on this idea of: Prevention over Prescription. As an ICU doctor, I’ve seen firsthand how devastating illness can be. But I’ve also noticed that the patients who are: ⇒ Fit ⇒ Active ⇒ And healthy Tend to have better outcomes. They’re less likely to end up on a ventilator, and more likely to make it home. The hard truth is that 88% of Americans are metabolically unhealthy. This has to change. We need a movement towards proactive, preventive health - staying active, eating well, managing stress, and building strong communities. This is a rallying cry. If you want to avoid ending up in the ICU like my patients, follow me. I share tips on how to prioritize your well-being through lifestyle-based prevention. Your best defense is in your own hands.
