Social Media Is What We Make It✅ At one point, I considered leaving Instagram because I felt it wasn’t adding value to my life. But then I realized something powerful the way we use social media defines its impact. It can be a tool for growth, a showcase of talents, or a platform to build your brand and better yourself.👩🏽💻 This realization inspired me to create “Carrer Not Career by Darleen”, an Instagram page dedicated to helping young people kickstart their professional lives. I saw a gap many young people today aren’t approaching their professional and academic lives with the seriousness they deserve. My goal was to fill that gap by providing tips, resources, and guidance for professional development. Right now, the page is down as I work behind the scenes to relaunch in 2025 with fresh, impactful content. I’m excited to make it bigger and better for those eager to elevate their careers. The most-searched words of the year - demure and brain rot are saying: Both reflect the duality of modern life, a yearning for peace (demure), and an inevitable surrender to overstimulation (brain rot). For millennials and Gen Z, these terms validate their struggles while providing vocabulary to laugh at their absurd online lives. Anyone else feeling the holiday 🎄🎅🤶pressure? I always feel this pressure of doing it all. Making sure my business is in a good place while also creating the best Christmas for my daughter—and honestly, it’s exhausting. As moms, as business owners, as humans, we put so much on ourselves to get everything perfect. But here’s the thing im learning more and more perfection isn’t what matters. What matters is being present. Take a second to pause, breathe, and just be. Because at the end of the day, your kids (and you!) will remember more than the perfect tree or the perfect gifts—they’ll remember the moments you were there. Although, let’s be honest—if I told my daughter that, she’d totally disagree and say, “No, Mom, it is about the perfect gifts!” And honestly, I laugh because her humor is so her and something I would joke about too. But deep down, I know (even if she won’t admit it) that what really matters is me showing up, being present, and making memories with her. So here’s your reminder! Give yourself grace. 🙏Grace as a parent. 🙏Grace as a business owner. 🙏Grace as someone just doing their best. You don’t have to do it all perfectly. You’re already doing enough.
