September is National Preparedness Month, and it's the perfect time to 'start a conversation' about preparing your animals for emergencies. Do you have a pet like Posey at home—a little critter with hooves or another animal that's a bit more challenging to load up than a dog or a cat? Now is a great time to make your plan and begin preparing. If an evacuation order or warning is issued, it’s essential to have a way to safely get your animal into a crate and to a place of safety. And if you have a youngster, like Posey, it's the perfect time to train them with treats and get comfortable with a crate. This little piglet gets an A+ for cuteness, but more importantly, she’s learning to be ready if disaster strikes. Take the time this month to train your animals, so you’re both prepared when it counts. Learn more at www.napacart.org #Napa #NationalDisasterPreparednessMonth #NapaCounty

Give first responders crucial information BEFORE an emergency occurs so they can react quickly. Your safety profile is free, private, and secure, and will only be accessed if you need to call 911. - You can include important details about your household members to assist in an emergency, whether the call is from your home or a mobile phone. - Providing visual details of the emergency location and information about access points like hidden driveways or gate codes can help responders arrive faster. - Sharing essential information about you and your loved ones can provide 911 and first responders with critical details to help them respond effectively. - You can also add information about your vehicles, pets, service animals, as well as any special notes you'd like responders to be aware of.
