I had the opportunity to attend a workshop conducted by the British Geological Survey and the 4th Annual Conference organised by the Critical Minerals Association (UK) over the past few weeks. Both events underscored the significance of the UK Rare Earth Elements (REE) supply chain and the vital role of the #CircularEconomy. As the UK strives for sustainable development in the #REE sector, LESS COMMON METALS LIMITED is making a notable contribution by establishing an alternative supply chain within the Western world, supported by indigenous research and development initiatives and projects funded by Innovate UK. The collaborative efforts of LESS COMMON METALS LIMITED and various partners have already resulted in several innovative projects, including the recycling of REEs from spent magnets used in electric vehicle motors ( Ionic Technologies, Less Common Metals and Ford Motor Company ) and industrial magnet production swarf (Less Common Metals, Ionic Technologies and Vacuumschmelze) . These initiatives are set to enhance the sustainability of the REE market in the UK.
