In the blink of an eye we approach 10 years at Lemonade Ltd. What I’ve learned over those 10 years is incalculable. What I can say for sure is that working with actors is great but having the chance to tell real stories and learn from the people in those stories is probably what we are most grateful for. Hopefully you find ways to tell real stories somewhere in your content/marketing mix. After all, brands are real. #marketing #branding #stories #agency

Can anyone in Milton Keynes help!?
Thought this would be a perfect place to ask if anyone knows of a company that would be willing to allow us to use their kitchen to teach our young care leavers how to cook? Having a practical skill like cooking while transitioning to adulthood would make a scary time slightly less daunting if they know they can cook a delicious meal 🥘 🍲 I already have a trainned chef at the ready, we just need the equipment ☑️ Please DM if you could help 🩶

Staffing in elder care facilities is always a challenge. A lot of nursing homes are located in smaller communities, and the work and the grind in a nursing home is difficult. When we talk about the kitchen in particular, the gap is often even larger as the entire food service industry is understaffed and these are not the highest paying jobs. In this environment, what often surprises me is that not enough people are looking at the overall productivity of their kitchen and their processes. Unfortunately, they're usually too busy to even do the studies that you need to do in order to dig out of the hole. A great example is pre-thickened liquids. Everybody thinks, “Oh, it's great. It's already mixed. All we have to do is serve it.” What they are not considering is that for every beverage (say they offer 4), that means they need to order at a minimum 3 different SKUs each (thin, mildly thick, and moderately thick), plus they still need to make extremely thick (since you can’t order it). Now they have 12 different items they’re ordering that they need to keep in stock, keep refrigerated, have ready to serve, and they still have powder thickener around, because they're going to get somebody who needs extremely thick on occasion. The question everyone should be asking is “how can we simplify without sacrificing quality.” If you make thickening any drink dummy-proof and easy - one pump for mildly, two pumps for moderately, four pumps from extremely thick - and it takes under 2 minutes to mix - whether you are making 1 serving or a gallon, it saves all the costs of inventory management, wasted food, and frustrated employees. I’ll send anyone a free sample who wants to try it. #ElderCare #Dysphagia #Staffing

Read these important precautions for Thanksgiving cooking safety: Stay in the kitchen when you are cooking on the stovetop so you can keep an eye on the food. • Stay in the home when cooking your turkey and check on it frequently. • Keep children away from the stove. The stove will be hot and kids should stay 3 feet away. • Make sure kids stay away from hot food and liquids. The steam or splash from vegetables, gravy or coffee could cause serious burns. • Keep the floor clear so you don’t trip over kids, toys, pocketbooks or bags. • Keep knives out of the reach of children. • Be sure electric cords from an electric knife, coffee maker, plate warmer or mixer are not dangling off the counter within easy reach of a child. • Keep matches and utility lighters out of the reach of children — up high in a locked cabinet. • Never leave children alone in room with a lit candle. • Make sure your smoke alarms are working. Test them by pushing the test button.

My colleagues from different positions sat down one day and we discussed how we would like to live in an aged care setting when we reach that age. RN 1: just let me binge TV, my favourite TV shows, with beer, nuts, on a good recliner chair. Don't bother ask me to have meals at dining room, I like to watch my favourite shows which usually fall at meal times. RN 2: I only like Tiramisu and wine, don't preach me on healthy food, I don't care. It's my life, not yours. Chef: If you serve me those Pureed food scooped up by an ice-cream scoop, I will storm into the kitchen with the plate and teach them a proper lesson. I know some top chefs would probably turn the kitchen upside down and cook his own meal. Maintenance Officer: I would probably pull everything apart and resemble them back together. These are giant LEGOs and it's fun. Facility Manager: I probably will become a QCAB representative and challenge every single suggestion or decision from the operator. I had heard enough from an FM position, now it's my turn to talk back. Care Manager: I don't want to care too much anymore, but I'll judge critically how you care about me. Quality: I will be one of the top 'High Maintenance required' listed person as I look into a lot of gaps and complaints. I will probably send you 3 complaints at least on daily basis. What would your life in aged care be 20 years from now?

📣 Life Update (getting personal and vulnerable)…I started a kids cooking school on the side and am now going all in!! Junior Chefs Kitchen provides hands-on cooking classes infused with nutrition education for ages 2-18. Some of you know that I opened the JCK brick-and-mortar Studio in Lincoln Park, Chicago November 2023 while still working full time in tech sales (and trying to be a present mother to my 3 young kids). As of last week, I have decided to go for it and work full time at JCK!!! This is a nerve racking decision but the right one for me, my family and JCK. The demand has exceeded expectations and there are big growth plans so I want to be "all in" (a la Scott Galloway or the sharks on #sharktank). And in the 9 months we’ve been open, we’ve done some incredible things: 📚 Doubled our after school partnerships - now in 16 north side programs, both CPS and private schools 🎉 Forged a partnership with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metropolitan Chicago 🥑 Created over 200 teaching recipes 👨🍳 Cooked, ate and taught over 150 kids per week in studio classes and after school programs 🌞 Summer camp was 90% sold out (our first summer!!) teaching over 1,250 kids! 🍽 Partnered with 15 restaurants for Field Trips 🍪 Helped a few Girl Scout Troops earn badges (more to come there!!) 🧁 Baked tens of thousands cupcakes for our Birthday Parties. 🥫 Donated over 400 pounds of food via our partnership with Nourishing Hope 🥦 Composted over 815 pounds with WasteNot, Inc. Here’s why you should check us out - in person, on social or subscribe to our weekly newsletter: 💙 We give parents a break from battling with their kids to try new foods!! 💜 Our Junior Chefs learn life skills - like knife safety, cooperation, patience, teamwork, collaboration, math, and science. ❤️ We are the only kids cooking school in Chicagoland that cooks with meat, fish and poultry as young as 2 years old. 🧡 JCK works with a Registered Dietitian that ensures our recipes are nutrient dense and provides the curriculum for staff to share these factoids. And if you’re still reading 🤣, here’s what’s next: scouting two (2) additional studios in Chicago (West Loop, South Loop, Wicker Park) with the goal to start franchising in late 2025. I want to give local entrepreneurs a way to tap their network with a proven, scalable business model that earns 30% + net margin with a powerful mission. Please join me in this adventure: ✔️ Subscribe to our weekly Wednesday newsletter full of recipes, nutrition info and happenings around town. ✔️ Follow us on Instagram / Facebook for daily info & bts reels. ✔️ Join a class! Your first class is 40% off with code JCKFall2024 And there are SO many people that have helped along the way I’d like to thank: Jonathon Cordell Amy Hoffar Cheronis Genevieve Custer Weeks Abby Phelps Philip Rosenzweig Lena Eliopoulos Michael Wexler Michael Chin David Blitz LG Group & many more!
