"I want my students to not put limitations on themselves. I want them to have the possibility to pursue something they never thought they could. I’ve seen students become more interested in STEAM careers after learning with LEGO Education." Educator Giavanni Coleman shares how she is preparing her students for the future with #STEAM hands-on learning: https://bit.ly/3Xd1kUh

Interesting article! I believe and often say that both art and science nurture each other, they co-exist on the same place. #learningthroughplay #bricksmad_ed #lego #creativity #creativeprocess #bricksmadrid #talleres #education #educacion

Great article to help me think more deeply about STEM education. The myth I've always had about STEM education is that the word science covers a much broader spectrum than technology, engineering, and math, such as the question posed in the article: are social and political sciences considered science? But if you look at it from the point of view of developing competence rather than imparting knowledge, teaching children the scientific way of thinking and the resilience needed behind the learning of science can be beneficial to their careers in any of these fields. Similarly, incorporating art into the system will incorporate the child's orientation towards more competencies such as creativity, etc. STEM education is not only the education of knowledge, it is also the education of competence and thinking method.

At Little Dreamers we believe that play is one of the key ways we can unlock children's potential. When kids engage in play, they’re not just having fun — they’re learning how to learn. Research shows that play stimulates creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills — the very abilities that will shape their future success. It’s not about structure or rules — it’s about letting kids explore, experiment, and discover the world on their terms. They’re not just having fun. They’re learning skills that will last a lifetime. Let’s bring the joy of learning through play back into the conversation. P.S. What’s your favorite childhood game? Drop it below! I had the privilege of being the Coach (1 of 2 coaches) for a team of 6th graders that competed in the First Lego League Robotics Competition last weekend. This is the 2nd time my son is competing in FLL as part of a larger team. For those looking for an amazing experience, this event is worth exploring. Here is their website: https://lnkd.in/gXqSqbTB FIRST does a phenomenal job of incorporating Robotics, coding, an Innovation Project that tackles real world problems and instilling it's Core Values (Discovery, Innovation, Impact, Inclusion, Teamwork and Fun) into a process that spans roughly 3 months. During this time, kids learn a wide range of skills such as coding, teamwork, problem solving, public speaking, working under pressure and conducting real world research and interviews. This year our team, the Radioactive Robots, worked on building a deep sea rig for the Mesophotic Zone to collect data and make it safer for deep sea researchers. If you are curious, check out the website they built: https://lnkd.in/gzyiFBUD Hats off to the army of volunteers that make it possible every year. Steve Chang , thanks for the amazing partnership these last few months!! Stephen Gedney - FLL truly embodies STEM and the spirit of discovery! Thanks to you and the team for making this happen, every single year! #STEM, #learning, #science, #robotics, #DenverUniversity

This term the Grade 0’s have been exploring simple machines such as gears, levers & pulleys. We have started each lesson with a SciShow Kids video & then headed off to our Lego Early Simple Machines boxes (Set 9656) for some hands-on learning. Students worked in teams, following the Lego building instructions to build cars, hockey players, swings & elevators. . This week we read one of my favourite STEAM books - Izzy Gizmo & the Invention Convention. The students used their knowledge of simple machines to create their own inventions with the Lego. . These lessons have been such fun, I have loved seeing the students fully engaged in their learning, applying their knowledge through experimentation, problem solving, creativity and collaboration. .
