Our #InMemoryInsight programme explores in-memory giving in the UK, providing evidence for charities to shape fundraising strategies and promote the value of in-memory income. The most recent programme focused on in-memory products. Findings included: 🟣 Product gaps were identified between supporters' desires and the available products, suggesting there is potential for new and creative in-memory products. 🟣 Offering Choice. Supporters value having choices, but charities must honour and respect these when supporters express their preferences. 🟣 Internal comms. Supporters connect with charities across various interfaces, making it really important for the in-memory team to communicate effectively across the organisation. Do people prefer fundraising events to be easy to sign up for or low effort to take part in? 🤔 Our latest Donor Pulse research suggests it's both, depending on your audience. The data tells us that - on the whole - younger generations are happy to take part in a fundraising event that has a level of challenge to it. But they don't want the sign up process to be one of those challenges. The opposite is true for those 55 and over. Typically, they prioritise events that require lower effort to participate in. A good reminder to make sure your charity knows its supporter base well and offers a range of events to accommodate for people's different preferences.
