The Oregon Division of Financial Regulation (DFR) issued final rate decisions for 2025 health insurance for the individual and small group markets. For more information, read the press release at https://lnkd.in/gKYcmZ8d. Each year, DFR conducts a transparent health insurance rate review process for health plans that comply with the Affordable Care Act for small businesses and people who buy their own coverage rather than getting it through an employer. Conducting a yearly rate review ensures that premium rates charged to Oregonians adequately cover health care costs without being too high or too low. DFR’s health insurance rate review has helped find ways to save Oregonians money and provide more options for plans to fit their budget. If your patients don’t have health insurance through a job, Medicare, Medicaid, or the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP), they may be able to find coverage through the Health Insurance Marketplace. Outside the yearly Open Enrollment period, individuals can enroll in or change plans only if they have experienced certain life events, recently lost Medicaid or CHIP coverage, or qualify for Medicaid or CHIP based on their household income. South Carolina health insurance Marketplace: — All carriers are decreasing their average premiums. The overall average premium decrease is 1.35%, before subsidies are applied. — Cigna enrollees need to pick a new plan for 2025, as Cigna is exiting the individual market in South Carolina. — InStil Health is new for 2025, but only in Spartanburg and York counties. — In all but one county, there are at least three carriers offering plans in the Marketplace for 2025. https://lnkd.in/g8NwYyMp
