Tomorrow is Giving Tuesday, and we're doing something different this year. We're not asking for anything. Instead, we invite you to get outside and reconnect with the places that make your heart full — whether it's the tranquility of Lake Tahoe, a hidden trail you've discovered, or even your favorite local park. 🌲✨ Take a breath. Take it all in. And if you're feeling inspired, share a moment that matters to you — a photo, a video, or just a thought about why these places are worth protecting. Please share it here: https://lnkd.in/gqBzcQsT 🌿📸 No pressure, no ask — just a reminder of why we fight so hard to Keep Tahoe Blue. Let's take today to enjoy, reflect, and remember why we love our incredible natural spaces. 💙 #GivingTuesday #KeepTahoeBlue #LoveNature #Gratitude #WildPlaces

Happy #GivingTuesday. There's nothing like kicking off a first season of EOY giving at the fundraising helm of an org and saying "you're right y'all, let's sit this one out". We talk a lot about when it's "our time" and when it's time let others have the day and focus on the long strategy. As a fundraiser who cares deeply about community-centric values and approach, sometimes it's simply not necessary for us to be the loudest in the room. Plus, as a donor, the pace of #GT fundraising is frantic: I know it’s happening, I’ll make my gifts too, but it’s hard to sift through even a quarter of the e-appeal’s I receive today. So today we're quiet. I spent the morning on a frosty walk at the Lake, reflecting on why I love this place and choose to spend my professional time protecting it. I thought of memories as a kid out on the water, skiing with family and friends at just about every resort around the Lake, New Years midnight polar plunges off docks in Incline ... the memories that make this place special now, and for generations. If you love Tahoe or a special wild place, I encourage you to slow down and do the same. As someone who believes in the vital role private support plays in maintaining the wellness, vibrancy, and social infrastructure of the United States, I offer this if you want to give today: think small. Often, tactics like #GT work best for whoever can bang the biggest drum. But your $100? It will mean the most to the youth services org with a budget under $1MM, to the community group trying to rally a solution for a neighborhood environmental problem, or to the arts org trying to self-produce a grassroots project. Because every-day-donors do matter, and today, these orgs need you most. Giving Tuesday is a wonderful tactic for the right moment, right time, (and generosity begets more generosity), but it doesn’t replace the need for robust support year-round. As public funding looks to dwindle for many orgs, this is more important than ever. Don't worry - we'll keep our big year-end push going to Keep Tahoe Blue. But today, we rest and let others shine.

Let’s do something a little different this year for #EarthDay Regardless of where you’re at today or what you’re doing: go outside, take your shoes and socks off, and put your feet directly in the grass (if grass is not immediately available lie your whole body down on the ground). Stand there like that for at least a minute. Focus on the way the ground feels beneath your toes; that as you are standing there, the force you are exerting down into the earth is deeply connected to the force the earth provides. Maybe imagine roots growing from the pads of your feet deep into the soil, getting stronger and spreading wider as they support you. Take a moment to notice what you smell, what you feel, and what you see. Are there birds chirping? Does the ground feel dry? Can you see the grass between your toes? Take a deep breath. Grounded. All too often we become disconnected from our surroundings and environment, caught up in work, responsibilities, and society. Grounding is underrated. Be a rebel, get your feet dirty. Take a photo and peer pressure your friends and coworkers into doing the same (team building for the win!😆). Extra points to Hufflepuff if you share your #earthfeets photo in the comments. #earth #grounding #takeabreak #takeitin

Consider the untamed garden, where wildflowers bloom haphazardly, their vibrant colors splashing against the green with no hint of symmetry. Yet, isn't there beauty in this disorder? Isn't there a secret charm to the way daisies and wild roses emerge wherever they wish, governed by the whims of the wind and the will of the rain? Life, in its essence, mirrors this garden. It tosses us about in a whirlwind of events, circumstances, and encounters, each as unpredictable as a summer storm. Yet, amidst this seeming disarray, there lies a rhythm, a melody that sings of hope and opportunity. To embrace the chaos is not to surrender, but to dance to this melody—to step forward with a heart full of courage and eyes wide open to the possibilities that lie hidden within the turmoil. As you roll with the chaos, remember the wildflowers. They do not resist the wind nor dread the rain. Instead, they turn their faces toward the sun, soaking in life's light and warmth, thriving in places where no one thought they could grow. This, then, is the secret whispered by the breeze: that there is strength in flexibility, joy in the unexpected, and a profound victory in simply letting go and finding your place within the wild dance of life. There is beauty in the chaos, after all, and perhaps, just perhaps, a way to win. #Sarbrandhawa #TheBetterBlueprint Dive into 'The Better Blueprint'—your fortnightly guide to enriching both personal and professional landscapes. 🕊️ The more I learn, the more I realize that nature restores the soul. Spending time outdoors rejuvenates our spirit and grounds us. 🌱🌌 For me, whenever I start experiencing the energy of anxiety, overwhelm, fear, or frustration, taking a walk outside in nature even if it’s just around my neighborhood which has lots of trees, I notice I start to become a lot calmer. 🌾 On warmer and drier days, I love to put my bare feet in the grass and I’ll either sit with my feet connected to the earth or I’ll walk around. I can feel the energy in my feet! I also love to walk around in the sandbox at the park near me or any sand near a beach or other body of water. 🩴🏖 Not only does this help with grounding and energizing, but it also helps work my feet muscles. We don’t use our stabilizing muscles in the feet when they are in shoes all the time. 👣🦶 🌳 Sometimes I’ll connect with the trees by placing my hands on them. On Saturdays, I spend the entire day out in nature rain or shine or cold and connect with the trees, the plants, the sky, the water, and any wildlife we come across. 🪹🐦🐿 🐶 Depending on the location, sometimes I connect with other people’s dogs at the dog park! 😄 How do you connect with nature? #NatureLovers #SoulRestoration #Grounding #Connection #SoulfulWealthSystem #PetwellCreative

AMBI is / researched. With warmer summer weather, indulging in the benefits of natural light relative to our circadian rhythms is important. On average, we spend more than 90% of our time indoors—missing the comforts of the outdoors and its natural rhythm. When choosing your spaces for the summer, consider swapping the traditional for the natural. #MelanopicLighting #CircadianRhythm #NaturalLight
