Strength In Coatings, Barrel Racing, Community, and Commitment One of our New Finish team members, “Ashlee” traded in her work boots for cowboy boots as she saddled up for the local rodeo – East Rowan Saddle Club and proudly sporting her New Finish, Inc. T-shirt in the arena. It’s a unique contrast – from the precision of coating heavy-duty machinery to the thrill of barrel riding and roping steers. But amidst the excitement of the rodeo, there’s an important lesson to be learned about the value of community support and participation. Just as our coatings help protect and enhance agricultural equipment, community events like the rodeo play a vital role in bringing people together and strengthening the fabric of our towns and neighborhoods. At New Finish, Inc., we understand the importance of being active members of our community. Whether we’re supporting local events, sponsoring youth sports teams, or participating in charity fundraisers, we believe in giving back to the communities that support us. So, when you see one of our team members in the rodeo arena, know that they’re not just representing New Finish, Inc. – they’re representing the spirit of community involvement and support that defines who we are as a company. Here’s to the thrill of the rodeo, the precision of our coatings, and the strength of our community. At New Finish, Inc., we’re more than just an industrial coatings company – we’re a part of something bigger, and we’re honored to be able to contribute in any way we can. Get in touch with New Finish, Inc. today! NewFinishInc.com #NewFinishInc #IndustrialCoatings #Rodeo #CommunitySupport #LocalEvents #Agriculture #BarrelRacing #StrengthInCommunity

March is Brain Injury Awareness Month. Why do brain injuries get a whole month of recognition? Because traumatic brain injury contributes to more death and disability than other traumatic injuries (globally) & is viewed as a preventable injury. One such indication that prevention is possible is the decrease in emergency department visits for children with bicycle injuries between 2009-2018 (in the US). Continue to protect fellow Wisconsinites who enjoy biking as a form of recreation, transportation and leisure by donating here: https://bit.ly/3TcjRh8

Feeling Charitable for the Holiday Season? If you own or run a business and are thinking about donating to a charitable cause, I have a proposition for you. 170 of my students will be giving their time in the next few weeks to help and serve others in their local community in small and simple ways, and the hours add up: They have now completed over 500 hours of service this semester - mainly because they were asked, but now because they want to. So, for these last few weeks, we are going to run a "serve-a-thon". Remember things like the walk-a-thon or jog-a-thon when we old people were younger? You got your neighbors to pledge five cents or something for every lap you ran, and that money went to charity. Well, here is what we are doing: For every man hour of service, my businesses are pledging to set aside a portion of money (minimum is $1 per hour) for donation. Then, at the end of December 9th, we total the hours for those few weeks, total the number of donations generated, and then use those on projects identified on the Light the World website, such as giving clean water, or safe maternity conditions, or livestock for a family, etc. (See https://lnkd.in/gfd8pNdB). YOU control the money, YOU hold onto it, but you let THEM have a say in how its donated. So, if you want to be charitable in your business this month, join us and let these amazing students set the amount for what you will give, choose where to give it, and then partner with you in the satisfaction of doing good locally AND globally. Contact me PRIVATELY and I can give you more details.

One for our furry friends 🐾 We’ve invested £1.7 million into Coffi Lab, a dog-welcoming coffee shop business with premises across south Wales and south-west England. With five coffee shops in Cardiff and the surrounding areas, two in Monmouthshire and two in England with a third opening in Bristol in January, Coffi Lab plans to open a number of new shops in south Wales and the south-west of England. The expansion plans are due to create 40 new jobs over the next 12 to 18 months. ‘When I started Coffi Lab it began with an introspection of what mattered to me. Inspired by my beautiful Fox Red Labrador Dylan, I wanted to create a space where we could welcome dogs with open arms,’ explained founder and CEO James Shapland, who founded the company in 2021. ‘We have invested heavily in our infrastructure to aid smooth and efficient growth. Last year we opened our Coff Lab Roastery and Bakery as well as a central kitchen which has enabled us to deliver seasonal menus and develop relationships with wonderful producers across Wales. Our growth has enabled us to donate over £100,000 to Guide Dogs UK, sponsoring nine life changing Guide Dog Puppies to date’. 🌟 Navigating Division: Support Braver Angels Florida 🌟 The recent events surrounding #LuigiMangione, accused of the tragic death of #UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson, have deeply polarized our community. Some view Mangione as a vigilante challenging systemic issues, while others see his actions as indefensible violence. This stark divide underscores a critical need: the ability to engage in courageous conversations that bridge our differences. At Braver Angels Florida, we are committed to: Facilitating Constructive Dialogue: Creating safe spaces where individuals with opposing viewpoints can share their perspectives without fear of judgment. Promoting Understanding: Encouraging empathy by helping individuals see the world through others' eyes, even when they disagree. Reducing Polarization: Implementing programs designed to heal the divisions that events like the Mangione case expose. Your support enables us to expand initiatives such as: Red/Blue Workshops: Bringing together conservatives and liberals to find common ground. Skills Training: Teaching techniques for respectful communication across divides. Community Debates: Hosting discussions that prioritize understanding over winning. Join us in transforming division into dialogue. Your contribution will help us reach more Floridians, fostering a community where differences are navigated with empathy and respect. 🎯 Our Goal: $12,000 to enhance our statewide efforts. ✅ Every donation counts. ➡️ Support our mission today, https://lnkd.in/en2pz7hb Let's turn this moment of division into an opportunity for unity. Together, we can build bridges of understanding and pave the way for a more connected Florida. #StandForUnity #BraverAngels #BridgeTheDivide #FloridaUnites

This document is a deep dive into Bicycle Collective's impact, programming, people, and finances for the past year. Producing the report is always a challenging yet gratifying process, because it allows our staff time to reflect back on the impact we have made in the communities we serve, the programming we have delivered, the bikes we have received as donations, and the smiles we have delivered to those most in need of a bicycle to help them get to work, school, or just get outside for a little exercise. Although the document looks back at the preceding year, it also helps us fine tune our focus on the future. What can we say about 2023 that hasn’t already been said? It was a big year of realizing long term dreams and goals, especially when we rolled open the doors in late November of our New Hub on 325 West and 900 South in Salt Lake City. As an organization, we still managed to maintain our measurable impacts across the state. No boring stuff in this report. We hope you will take a look and see what is possible when a collective group of passionate people join hands. https://lnkd.in/gnh-XsMs
We are proud to share our 2023 Annual Report, which looks back on a transformational year for Bicycle Collective. With profound measurable impacts in the communities we serve across the state of Utah, to building and opening our New Hub on 325 West 900 South in SLC, to another year of pulling off Bike Prom, we are grateful for all the staff, board members, volunteers, and clients who helped make this happen. https://lnkd.in/ggq3pFdQ

Our client, John's Crazy Socks has now produced the world’s first pair of #braille socks with tactile letters. The Braille Crew Socks have the word “Inspire” written in raised braille lettering around the top band, while the braille alphabet covers each sock. John’s Crazy Socks will donate 10% from the sale of each pair of the Braille Crew Socks to the Guide Dog Foundation for the Blind, a Long Island-based national nonprofit that provides guide dogs, free-of-charge, to individuals who are #blind or have low vision. News 12 Long Island devoted over two and a half minutes of media coverage to the introduction of the socks throughout their broadcast day: Preview: https://lnkd.in/ezFhpEux Morning: https://lnkd.in/e492aPuu Evening Segment: https://lnkd.in/eutcYgaC The inspiration for these socks comes from Holly Connor of Clayton, Missouri who submitted a design as part of John’s Crazy Sock’s 2023 Autism Can Do Scholarship contest. Holly’s design earned her a $2,500 scholarship. Holly is both blind and autistic and wanted to raise awareness about the Braille alphabet and her inspirational story. It took the design team months to produce the three-dimensional Braille Crew Socks that accurately represented the braille alphabet. John’s Crazy Socks tested each prototype for all the features they assess in a typical sock. They also needed to make sure the presentation of the braille alphabet was accurate. The Guide Dog Foundation assisted the organization in this process. #publicrelations #mediarelations #pr #media #longisland #nonprofit #b2cmarketing
