For the past three years, EVCAC has been advocating for more equitable access to EV charging. Here in California, we got the state to require 50% of parking spaces in new multi-family housing to provide EV charging access. (And soon, that will be increased to 100% access.) We are pushing for EV provisions in the model national building codes, and making sure EV charging is equally affordable and convenient for everyone. We believe that the world doesn't need more parking -- but when we do build parking, we need to make sure it includes access to power for charging. The District of Columbia is rolling out two new rebate programs — Home Efficiency Rebates (HER) and Home Electrification and Appliance Rebates (HEAR) — to make energy-efficient home upgrades more accessible. Funded by the federal Inflation Reduction Act, these programs will support D.C. residents in reducing energy costs and enhancing sustainability. Innovate UK Business Connect is supporting Reading Borough Council in their plans to become Net Zero by 2030 by seeking solution providers who can offer an innovative, integrated energy management system. Reading Borough Council owns and operates a fleet of 225 municipal vehicles, which includes a variety of vehicles: from mowers to refuse trucks. Their aim is to achieve complete electrification of this fleet and a net zero depot on Bennet Road by 2030. Currently, the Bennet Road Depot operates multiple systems independently, which complicates obtaining a unified view across all operational levels. The council is seeking an innovative, integrated management system that is agile enough to work with an electric fleet and a built environment designed to incorporate and exploit emerging technologies, both physical and digital, to their fullest potential. 🚨Deadline to apply 7 October 2024.
