❗❗ Protect the Surplus Lands Act❗❗ Sign-on to the AB 1439 opposition letter at the link below by 5pm, June 19th! https://lnkd.in/gB9MW-fA tldr For nearly a decade, East Bay Housing Organizations has worked to strengthen California's Surplus Land Act (SLA), which ensures public land is used for public good. This law requires public agencies to offer their surplus land for the development of affordable housing first—and it is working! Since 2021, over 17,150 housing units have been created across the state using this law, including 10,750 affordable homes. EBHO has been following AB 1439, a bill that would amend the SLA to allow land to be sold for "healthcare facility" use without first offering the land for affordable housing development. This is an effort by Sutter Health, a private healthcare corporation to bypass the SLA and grab public land in Sacramento to expand their facilities. This sets a dangerous precedent, weakens the SLA, and hurts Californians in need—particularly low-income residents in desperate need of affordable housing.

Out of the 75 counties in Arkansas, 36% have a broken website or no website at all. An even larger percentage are outdated or unsecure. By having a modern, functional website with easy navigation, county officials can better connect with their constituents and ensure that the public stays well-informed at all times. Not only that, it helps create trust between local government and the citizens they serve. If your county is lacking a user-friendly, up-to-date website, encourage your county judge to contact Mass Enthusiasm. #CountyWebsites #ConnectConstituents #BuildTrust #MassEnthusisam #MakingMarketingInteractive
