In the past 3 or so weeks I walked to my new office, lost in thought, I had been blindly passing by a stunning 9-story high artwork of Nelson Mandela in his youthful prime. It was as if I was sleepwalking through life, oblivious to the beauty that surrounded me. But one day, something caught my attention. A young man, enthusiastically pointing up at the building, was explaining the significance of the artwork to two fascinated tourists. I couldn't help but join them, gazing up in wonder. How had I missed this magnificent piece for three whole weeks?! It struck me like a ton of bricks - I had been so consumed by my own thoughts that I had forgotten to live in the moment. I realized that life is full of breathtaking moments, and it's up to us to seize them. The next morning, I made a conscious decision to stop and smell the roses. I stood before the artwork, taking in every detail, every brushstroke, every emotion it evoked. And as I snapped a photo to share with the world, I felt a sense of connection to the beauty that surrounds us all. Let this be a reminder to us all: in the chaos of life, don't forget to look up, to notice, to appreciate. For in doing so, we might just discover a whole new world of wonder, waiting to be explored.
