Tonight I was just reflecting on my journey of employment and this is what I could dot down... As a legal admin and receptionist, I've had to juggle multiple responsibilities, from managing attorneys' schedules to handling client communications, and everything in between. It's not always easy, but it's taught me the importance of prioritization, time management, and adaptability. Limited resources Working in small to medium-sized law firms, I've often had to work with limited budgets and resources. This has forced me to be creative, find cost-effective solutions, and make the most of what we have. It's not always easy, but it's helped me develop a strong sense of resourcefulness and problem-solving. Balancing competing demands Between managing the front desk, supporting attorneys, and keeping the office running smoothly, there are always competing demands on my time and attention. It can be challenging to keep everyone happy, but I've learned to prioritize, delegate, and communicate effectively to manage expectations. Staying organized and efficient With so many tasks to complete and deadlines to meet, staying organized and efficient is crucial. I've developed systems, processes, and tools to help me stay on top of things, and I'm always looking for ways to improve my workflow. Maintaining confidentiality and discretion As a legal admin and receptionist, I've had access to sensitive and confidential information. It's essential to maintain discretion and confidentiality, even in challenging situations, and I take my responsibility to protect client and firm information very seriously. Managing stress and pressure The legal industry can be fast-paced and high-pressure, and as a legal admin and receptionist, I've had to deal with my fair share of stressful situations. I've learned to take care of myself, prioritize self-care, and develop healthy coping mechanisms to manage stress and pressure.

JUST For such a small word its use in the following context is loaded: “JUST a receptionist” “JUST a secretary” If it weren’t for wonderful/knowledgeable receptionists and secretaries, I JUST wouldn’t have been able to do my new job these past few weeks. 😊When I was going out to visit seven offices, who did I contact first to find out the best day to attend, for directions, for parking, for the names of other staff to meet? 😊When I wanted to know the main queries potential clients ask when they walk in/phone, who did I ask? 😊When I needed help opening a new file on a new system I’ve never used before who did I ask? 😊When I needed help with time recording who did I ask? The women I have met over the past couple of weeks have been knowledgeable, kind and amenable to answering my many, and there have been many, questions! They are the glue that holds everything together and I for one would have had a much harder time settling in without them. So, this is a thank you to you all. JUST keep being fabulous, I'd be lost without you and wouldn't be able to do my job. Also, a massive thank you to our wonderful trainee solicitor in our team Isabella Stylianou whose support has been invaluable. #legalprofession #teamwork

A kind and generous gesture when dealing with a client can really go a long way. Today, I had to wait an exuberant amount of time to be seen at an appointment. The front desk worker who checked me in felt really bad that her co-worker was running late to see me but there was nothing else she could do, her hands were tied. After being seen, as I was leaving my appointment, she told me that a credit was being made to my account for a portion of the service amount since I had to wait so long. I thought that was a very kind and generous gesture and I really appreciated it. So I’m here to say that kind gestures and client forward actions do not go unnoticed. These actions depict the same picture of how I choose to run my business - client focused & client driven. Have you also ever been on the receiving end of a kind and generous act? I would love to hear about it and what it meant to you. #legalnurse #NLLNC #thoughts #customerservice #clientsmatter #bekindandgenerous
