Part 2️⃣: If you are applying for a federal job you need to be familiar with the following terminology… ✨Closing date: This is the absolute last day you can submit your application. Remember fed jobs close at 11:59 pm EST. Be aware of time zone differences. ✨Referred: Your were considered among the best qualified candidates who applied and a hiring manager will consider you for an interview. (This status does not guarantee an interview, but it means your resume is working.) ✨ Job canceled: The agency withdrew the job announcement and did not hire anyone. This happens for a variety of reasons from budget issues, mission & agency changes. ✨ Reviewing applications: The job announcement is closed, and the hiring agency is reviewing applications. This status will display until the hiring process is complete. During this time hiring managers will reach out to referred candidates for interviews. ✨ Hiring complete: Hiring is completed and the position is filled. Unless you were the one hired, move on to another application. 💎See our previous post for part 1💎 👉🏽Share these tips with a federal job seeker and drop a 💪🏽 in the comments if you found this post helpful. • • 👋🏽 Hi, I’m Neen, ⭐️I position state, federal, & military jobseekers as best-qualified candidates. 🧪I do this by helping you understand the science behind the federal application system, your transferable skills, and writing resumes that expand and showcase your expertise. ✨ Tip for Landing Federal Jobs! ✨ When applying for federal jobs, carefully review the "How you will be evaluated" section in the job announcement. 📝 This section includes bulleted keywords and phrases that describe the qualifications and competencies the hiring agency is looking for. 🕵️♀️ USAJOBS 📌 Here’s how to use them effectively: ✨Identify Keywords: Look for specific skills, experiences, and qualifications mentioned in the bullets. ✨Incorporate in Your Resume: Ensure these keywords are prominently included in your federal resume. Highlight your experiences and accomplishments that align with these key points. ✨Tailor Each Application: Customize your resume for each job application, reflecting the specific language and requirements of the job announcement. Doing this increases your chances of passing through the automated application filters and impressing human reviewers, leading to a higher chance of landing an interview and job offer! 💼🎯 #FederalJobs #ResumeTips #JobSearch #FederalEmployment #USAJobs #CareerAdvice #JobHunt #ResumeWriting #InterviewTips #JobSuccess #GovJobs #HiringProcess #FederalCareers #JobApplicationTips #CareerGoals #UsajobsHire

You Will NEVER Get Hired for a Federal Job, and Here’s Why 🚫💼 🔹You’re using one general resume for every job announcement. Each federal job has specific requirements, and a “one-size-fits-all” resume won’t cut it! 📄❌ 🔹You’re not pulling keywords from the job announcement. Federal hiring managers look for specific terms to match you to the role. Missing keywords = missed opportunities. 🔑🔍 🔹Your format is wrong. Federal resumes are different! Dates, supervisor info, salary—if these aren’t included or formatted correctly, your application might not even be seen. 📅📞💸 Ready to boost your chances? Tailoring your resume for each role is KEY! A candidate 🧑✈️️ recently reached out to me on LinkedIn about a job I posted and sent me his resume directly. I asked him to apply through our official job posting system and assured him that he’d be notified of any updates 💡 . The next day, while reviewing applications, I couldn’t find his resume in the system. Curious, I messaged him to ask when he had applied. He replied that he thought sending his resume on LinkedIn was enough. I explained that while connecting on LinkedIn is valuable, our hiring process requires candidates to submit their applications through the official system. With 500+ applications, we prioritize those who follow this process. He asked, "What’s the next step now?" I advised him to apply directly through the job posting 🔖 . Once that’s done, I encouraged him to connect on LinkedIn to build relationships and make his name stand out. 👉 He mentioned that many recruiters don’t respond to him. I explained that while recruiters may not reply to every message, they do remember names when reviewing applications 🤝 . 🔕 So, here’s the key takeaway: when you find a job that fits your profile, apply through the official system first, then reach out to recruiters on LinkedIn. It’s all about maximizing your chances and following the process! We’re all doing our best to keep the hiring process smooth and fair for everyone. 😊 Happy job hunting! #jobseekers #careers #recruiting #hr #LinkedIn
