Today, I had the joy of hosting a Christmas party for my team at home. It was incredible to see everyone make the effort to drive a long way, not for a meeting or a deadline, but simply to connect. As we laughed, reminisced about our team's history, and reflected on how far we’ve come, it struck me: in the whirlwind of everyday tasks and deadlines, we rarely go beyond a quick “Hi, how’s it going?” Moments like these remind me why our work matters—not just the what we do but the who we do it with. These are the people who make long days feel lighter, who collaborate selflessly, and who embody the “no jerk policy” that has helped our culture thrive, even as we grow exponentially. Seeing smiles across the room instead of heads buried in laptops was a refreshing change. It reaffirmed that it’s people and connections that turn hard work into something fulfilling. So, this holiday season, I encourage everyone to pause. Take time to celebrate your wins, reflect on your journey, and connect with your teams—not just as colleagues, but as humans. Because at the end of the day, there’s no “I” in team, and the success of any organization is built on the strength of its people working together. Happy Holidays, everyone! Let’s keep the spirit of connection alive. 🎉✨

A Christmas party isn’t just a holiday tradition - it’s an opportunity for companies and employees to connect on a deeper level. For employers, it’s a chance to show appreciation, celebrate achievements, and foster a culture of camaraderie. For employees, it’s a time to unwind, strengthen bonds with colleagues, and feel valued beyond their daily work. These events remind us that behind every line of code or project milestone is a team of dedicated individuals. A well-organized Christmas party can boost morale, enhance team spirit, and create lasting memories that carry into the new year. It’s not just a party; it’s an investment in people - the core of any successful organization. #TeamCelebration #HolidayTraditions #CompanyCulture #EmployeeAppreciation

As the end of the year approaches, many companies are looking back on their successes, challenges, and the teamwork that made it all possible. ✨ It’s holiday parties time! ✨ How important is it to show appreciation, recognize employees’ efforts, foster team bonding in a relaxed and joyful atmosphere - especially now that, with remote work, not everyone is always in the office at the same time - and celebrate successes together? 🥂 A Christmas party is more than just a holiday tradition, it’s an opportunity to thank your team, strengthen bonds, and set the tone for the year ahead. I’ve learned over my career that for small and medium-sized businesses, these events can have a disproportionate impact. They’re a reminder that, at the end of the day, people matter most. And if we have the chance to make it an elaborate or extravagant event, why not?! 🎉 After all, investing in people is always the best gift you can give, and closing the year with gratitude and good cheer is a great way! What is your experience with Christmas parties? What would you have liked to organize? Or what would you have liked to experience as employees?

Questions… ❓⁉️❓ It’s that time of year again, you’ll notice your Jewish coworkers are out for 1 or 2 days because it’s Passover. ✡️ With everything going on, it’s safe to say that it’s extremely important for Jews around the world to be celebrating this year in particular. But I would like to focus on questions as the theme to my post. 🇮🇱 In any organization questioning should be welcomed, encouraged and celebrated. All too often we find employees scared to ask. 🙋🙋♀️🙋♂️. Radio Silence. Organizations need to ask to find out answers from stakeholders such as clients, donors and more importantly employees in order to drive success. Employees that feel confident to ask provide a vibrant organizational environment that is full of ideas and conversations (trust me you’ll know what I mean when you see it!!!) That’s what this time of year brings. The Passover holiday is purely there so people ask. It’s quite profound if you ponder on it for a few minutes. Maybe the answer to questions is not the part we crave, but rather the asking which provides us with insight into decisions we need to make for our organization. Take a moment to consider how you encourage asking in your teams and wider organization. Questions from different employees can spur incredible insights and ideas to make your organization stand out. Give it a shot and let me know how it goes ⬇️

Most people expect to receive some sort of gift of appreciation at work during the holidays. In the last week, I’ve attended two professional holiday parties where people won prizes, delicious food was served, and entertainment was enjoyed. Christmas is the traditional time to plan events like this for the people we work with. How can we recreate this magic and appreciation at other times of the year, not just around Christmas? I’ve seen organizations do all sorts of incentives throughout the year to show appreciation for their people to make them feel seen as humans, rather than just a number. These activities also increase their employee retention. Trips, contests, scotch tape races, you name it. 🤣 Holiday parties are so fun, don’t get me wrong. It’s also the time when people expect it. What happens when you reward your people when they aren’t expecting it? Lots of good things. Improved mental health, job satisfaction, and productivity at work. Just to name a few. If our entire energy and budget goes towards one party a year, perhaps there are ways we can adjust to make people feel seen the rest of the year too, when they are less likely to expect it. There something special about the element of surprise appreciation. Plus, scotch tape races down the hall are pretty cheap and so fun. What do you do to make others feel seen & appreciated when they’re not expecting it? #julielee #iseeyouleadership #theconnectedleader

I am one of those oddballs who gets excited on a Sunday night about knowing I've got work the next day. Much to my other half's bafflement, I might add. And I thought this week would be a prime example of why. This week I have the pleasure of helping Bluebird Care define their employer brand, ODEON Cinemas Group develop their shiny new careers website, Lidl GB creatively launch their new EVP, the green light to support on a piece of work close to my heart (animal related!), all whilst finishing off judging some incredible (and numerous!) RMAward entries. And we're only halfway through the week. Yes there's a lot to do, no it's not always plain sailing, but it's bloomin' good fun and you know the work is having a positive impact. And yep I'm aware some is name-dropping in this post. But I'm proud of it. Proud to do what I do, to be part of a business that delivers exceptional work, and proud of the clients I get to work with. It gives Monday - Friday and beyond clear purpose. The point of this post (and of employer branding in general) is simply, I hope everyone can do something they love, and as the old cliché goes, it shouldn't then feel like work. This month, we celebrate a whole crew of amazing associates who've dedicated their skills to making Clark Schaefer Strategic HR the powerhouse it is. 💙 Donata Lipps, HR Business Advisor, is celebrating her third year with Clark Schaefer Strategic HR! Q: What makes your work day exciting? A: I love working with all my co-workers, and each day brings a new opportunity to grow and learn. Q: What could you give a 30-minute presentation about with no advance preparation? A: Pickleball, cornhole, or raising chickens. Q: What's one thing you've learned from your coworkers that you're grateful for? A: I’ve learned that it's possible to work hard AND play hard. Being part of a team that is dedicated to achieving our goals while also taking time to celebrate successes, whether big or small, has been truly rewarding. Q: When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up? A: A professional dog walker… or any type of pro athlete. Q: How many different states have you lived in? A: With the biggest cup of coffee imaginable. Q: What’s your favorite inspirational quote? A: “Choose to be kind over being right, and you’ll be right every time.” — Richard Carlson, author of "Don’t Sweat the Small Stuff — and It’s All Small Stuff" Q: How do you wind down after work? A: Taking a moment in my driveway before entering the house to reflect on both the positives and negatives of the day. I believe it's important to celebrate even the smallest victories and to also allow myself time to process any negatives and find ways to learn from them. This helps me prevent the negatives from lingering into the next day. Also, any day that I can go play Pickleball after work is a huge plus in my book! Q: What job would you be terrible at? A: Anything that involves public speaking. A special thanks to those who opted out of being featured on social media for their work anniversary but are an incredible part of our crew: Gilbert Obeng (2 years), Anne England (2 years), and Zeina Kowalski (2 years). #WorkAnniversary #EmployeeRecognition #HappyAnniversary
