🌟 Today, as we celebrate and recognise International Men’s Day, we're excited to share an update on "In Your Corner," our Change Grow Live project funded by the MOJ Innovation Grant! ⭐ This initiative empowers men aged 18-30 within the criminal justice system, by embracing positive masculinity and addressing the many barriers hypermasculine attitudes and behaviours can present—such as reluctance to seek support and challenges in building positive relationships. A key focus of the project is investing time in building trusting relationships with participants, ensuring they feel supported and understood. We've developed a 14-week program that runs alongside activities like boxing, football, and music. These pro-social community engagements aim to enhance how participants interact with others, strengthen relationships, and build healthier connections within their communities, while also exploring stigma and masculinity in depth. Children use jugaad in three critical ways: 1. An international study on homophobia and transphobia in sport done in 2015 by Out on the Fields found that 80% of participants have witnessed or experienced homophobia, with homophobic language being the most common case. When we work towards using inclusive language and behaviour, and fostering safer spaces, we can eradicate abuse in sport and make every athlete welcome to participate with their whole self.
