HUMAN RESOURCE STRATEGY A HR strategy is a document, a plan, or a vision that an HR or People Team puts together to help guide their efforts over an extended period of time. It is meant to align the goals of the HR department with the goals of the business, in order to formulate a plan and concrete set of measures to reach those goals. How Connected Are HR and Business Strategy? They are incredibly connected. The internal goals set out in an HR strategy should seek to support the overall business goals. While this can be done directly or indirectly, there needs to be an understanding of how it is happening and how it can help. Without this, you risk your HR strategy being too isolated from the rest of the business, and from upper management, reducing visibility and long-term efficacy. Understand your organization's objectives. A good human resources strategy is closely linked to organizational goals, so it's important to first understand the business's objectives and mission. Work closely with management or executives to articulate the company's short- and long-term goals for growth. #humanresourcestrategy https://lnkd.in/gUJ5h5-e

💼 HR is more than a function! It's a Business. 💼 When HR is connected to the business purpose, something remarkable happens - it begins to operate like a business itself. We, in HR, recognize that we are part of something larger. We don't simply do HR; we do HR for (insert company's name), which means aligning our practices with the organization's mission, vision, and values. By viewing employees as customers and our programs and services as offerings, we can tailor our approach to reflect the company's identity and values. No longer limited to just a function, HR becomes a catalyst for culture and success within your organization. Seeing HR as a business partner rather than a separate function unlocks its potential. It enables us to reshape HR's identity within your organization and unleash its power to drive meaningful change. 🚀 Embracing HR as a business means: - Alignment with Purpose: By connecting HR initiatives to the broader organizational purpose, we contribute to achieving business goals. We become partners in shaping and perpetuating the company's vision while demonstrating how HR supports and enhances the overall strategy. - Customer-Centric Approach: When we see employees as customers, we prioritize their experience and satisfaction. By tailoring HR programs and services to meet their needs and desires, we create a workplace where employees feel valued, engaged, and fulfilled. - Cultural Integration: HR plays a vital role in shaping and nurturing organizational culture. By aligning our practices with the company's values, we become ambassadors of the culture, fostering an environment where employees thrive and bring their best selves to work. - Driving Success: Just as a business seeks success, HR contributes to the organization's success. By embracing HR as a strategic business unit, we can leverage our expertise to attract, develop, and retain top talent, ultimately driving productivity, innovation, and profitability. It's time to unleash HR's full potential within your organization. Let's reshape its identity, view employees as valuable customers, and align HR programs to reflect your company's unique DNA. We can transform HR into a strategic force that drives business growth and prosperity. At HR4HR Consulting, we understand the power of aligning HR with the business. Our team collaborates with organizations to elevate HR from a functional role to a strategic partner. Work closely with management or executives to articulate the company's short- and long-term goals for growth. Perform a skills inventory for every employee to determine which individuals are skilled in specific areas. This may help you better understand how your employees can contribute to the company's main objectives. It also helps you recognize your company's strengths, which you can use to craft a more specific and effective HR strategy. Next, evaluate what you will need from employees in the future to capitalize on opportunities, minimize threats and achieve company goals. You should be able to determine: • Which new jobs you will need to fill • Which skills current employees will need to obtain to fill the new jobs • Whether you're sufficiently utilizing the abilities of your current employees • Whether your current HR professionals and the hiring practices they use can accommodate the necessary growth. #hrstrategy https://lnkd.in/gUJ5h5-e

All too often, HR strategy (and other functions) suffer from not getting clear communication from business leaders about the business plan or not being a part of the development of the business plan. This leaves HR people focused on the day-to-day without considering the bigger goals and direction. However, the best-made HR plans will tie directly to the company’s business strategy, the plan, and the goals specified. The company’s core purpose is central, while longer-term and shorter-term goals are defined and broken down into milestones. HR professionals can then work towards the objectives.
