The Kineticos AMR Accelerator Fund I envisions a World Without Antimicrobial Resistance. Launched in 2023, KAMRA focuses on supporting innovators to address the serious global problem of AMR. Since then, there is a growing awareness of the AMR issue, as exemplified in recent scientific publications, and the 79th UN General Assembly in September, which called for sustainable national financing to address this urgent healthcare need. Kineticos provides an overview and our comments on the growing awareness in AMR Efforts in Q3. #AMR #antimicrobialresistance https://lnkd.in/eap2SVwa

Association for Diagnostics & Laboratory Medicine Disruptive Technology Award semi-finalists were announced! After grouping the innovations, there is a 33.3% chance each for infectious disease and blood sampling, and 16.6% for oncology and mental health, I am curious to see if the judges deviate from historical trends favoring infectious disease (only 1 out of 6 past winners). Babson Diagnostics | BetterWay Blood Testing Offers a less invasive, convenient service at retail locations. Provides lab-quality results from microsamples (fingerstick). Set for summer 2024 launch, with key patents. Dionysus Digital Health | The Enlighten Test Uses AI to analyze genetic/epigenetic, and behavioral data to manage mood disorders. Uses a smartphone app for real-time mood tracking, targeting women’s health issues like postpartum depression. MELIOLABS INC. | MeltStat Three hour culture-free pathogen detection directly from blood, reducing antibiotic misuse. Integrates AI with microfluidics for accurate diagnostics, focusing on neonates. Mercy BioAnalytics, Inc. | Mercy Halo™ Uses extracellular vesicles for sensitive ovarian cancer detection. Offers a potential low-cost annual screening solution to enhance survivability. PBD Biotech | Actiphage TB Test Combines phage technology with qPCR for specific TB detection. Supports the World Health Organization End TB Strategy, aiming for scalable global use. Vitestro | Autonomous blood drawing device Features robotic phlebotomy to address workforce shortages, enhancing safety and standardizing procedures. Launching in Europe in 2024, well-received in tests. Learn more about the semi-finalists here: https://lnkd.in/eHEHquMK #adlm #aacc #labtesting #diagnostics

This is largely based on knowing the effects of changes in specific genes (and proteins) inside cells. In precision medicine, doctors use information from lab tests to put together a plan of care that usually includes specific recommendations. 💊The global oncology precision medicine can grow at a CAGR of 11.2 % until 2030. The Asia Pacific region may have the largest CAGR. The non-oncology precision medicine size may increase up to 130 billion dollars by 2030 Read More: https://lnkd.in/dbRG-XXj Connect with 𝐒𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐱 for cutting-edge industry insights, perspectives, and Business purposes [https://lnkd.in/dpJutC_F] Stay tuned to 𝐒𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐱 for more thought-provoking and insightful posts. Prof. Riccardo Polosa meets the international partners of the THRUST project in Munich to share and analyze the data collected so far and to strategically plan the next months. The #thrust project is the latest initiative carried out by #CoEHAR in Catania. The project, conceived and coordinated by prof. Riccardo Polosa, aims to evaluate smoking-related respiratory endpoints through innovative tools and the analysis of new biomarkers. Considering that #cigarette smoking leads to progressive structural damage and functional alterations in the lungs, the project aims to use innovative computerized imaging systems combined with artificial intelligence to detect early changes caused by smoking in the respiratory tract. #stopsmoking #research Stefano Palmucci https://lnkd.in/eYXrDdf4
