What is a COR? Lately, I’ve been receiving an influx of calls from passionate candidates eager to dive into the world of real estate. Whether inspired by glamorous shows like Selling Sunset or motivated by friends in the industry, it's clear that many are ready to take the leap. The first question I always ask? "Do you have your Certificate of Registration (COR)?" Most often, the answer is no, and many aren't even familiar with what it is. So, What is the Certificate of Registration? The Certificate of Registration is the entry-level registration required to work as an Assistant Agent in NSW, under the supervision of a Licensee in Charge (who must hold a Class 1 Licence). The maximum term of the COR is four years, during which you’ll need to complete the Certificate IV in Real Estate Practice qualification to apply for a Class 2 Real Estate Agent Licence if you wish to remain in the industry. How can I apply? Sometimes you are in a room full of Titans. Members of a particular sector of society that have seen it all. Or maybe they’ve seen enough to know that it’s not quite, all. It was a rewarding experience to watch masters practice their craft yesterday while working in LA. In finance, I see a broad spectrum of industries. It’s common for small, younger teams, to put their best person into a role that they are unprepared for. When things go poorly in these situations there is a lot of finger pointing. And that’s a shame. The process is a learning one. The faster we can take responsibility and move into a new solution, the better we become together. Seven meetings, 24 hours.
