Soft initiation of the first crash zone is now also available for the trains, similar to the cars.
Please find this example of real crash sequence, which is in line to our animation of derailment. https://lnkd.in/dDxeaE8g The high collapse strength of the conventional inter-vehicle buffers increase both the likelihood of derailment, following the collision, and the extent of lateral displacement. We can all see similar behavior of several intermediate coaches (interfaces 2, 3 etc.) after collisions on track. With Green Buffers, we make the necessary soft initiation of the first crash zone, similar to what the automotive industry is using. The new crash system improves the controlled energy balance by optimizing the available collapsing stroke in each interface, as the load at which they will collapse at is not the same throughout the train. The system allows the train to absorb the relevant part of the energy developed during a crash by individual characteristics of the buffers, i.e. enable the coaches to remain in line with all the wheels on the track. Please contact us for crash simulations and/or run your own dynamic simulation with multi-step characteristics and get the differences compared to a system with a limited number of steps. It can be seen that the collapse distance of coach ends at different interfaces vary greatly. The deformation in the leading coach is many times that in the ends of the rearmost interface.
