As we reflect on the first nine months of 2024, the EDAG Group has demonstrated remarkable resilience in a very challenging market. Despite a slowdown in Q3, our revenues slightly increased to €633.9 million, up 0.9% from last year. Noteworthy is our Production Solutions segment, which grew by 22.3%, alongside a 1.3% increase in Vehicle Engineering. These gains reflect our adaptability and commitment to innovation. We recently opened two cutting-edge facilities: the EMV Competence Center in Fulda and the Light Lab in Wolfsburg, broadening our services beyond the automotive sector. While demand for electric vehicles has declined, we remain focused on increasing order intake, essential for our future success. Our adjusted EBIT margin is 5.2%, with free cash flow increasing significantly to EUR 37.8 million as a result of effective working capital management. As we look ahead, we are dedicated to overcoming market challenges and optimizing our resources. BMW Group is advancing into a new era of electric mobility with the launch of its sixth-generation high-voltage batteries. The company is establishing five new battery assembly centers across three continents as part of its “local for local” strategy, ensuring that battery production is closely integrated with vehicle manufacturing, enhancing production resilience, and reducing carbon footprint. The new assembly plants are being built in Irlbach-Strasskirchen (Germany), Debrecen (Hungary), Shenyang (China), San Luis Potosí (Mexico), and Woodruff (USA). The Debrecen facility will start producing the first Neue Klasse vehicles in 2025, featuring advanced cylindrical cells with better energy density and faster charging times. The Irlbach-Strasskirchen site will supply high-voltage batteries to local car manufacturing plants, with rapid progress in construction. The Shenyang plant, supported by BMW Brilliance Automotive and a robust R&D network, will commence production in 2026. BMW’s competence centers in Parsdorf and Munich are already producing prototype battery cells, ensuring smooth integration into future models. This global expansion highlights BMW’s commitment to sustainable and efficient electric vehicle production. #SupplyChain #BMW #Batteries #Logistics
