We had an inspiring day with the second-year students from Strategic Communications, Faculty of Education, Language & Communications at UNIMAS, Kuching, Sarawak! 🎓✨ Our Khazanah Media Fellowship alumni—Rizal, Cindy, Jennifer, and Ida—shared their career journeys and insights of the dynamic world of communications. The event was packed with engaging activities: from writing compelling news headlines to an energetic “Shark Tank” session where students pitched their creative ideas as budding communication professionals 💡🦈. It was a privilege to witness their talent and passion in action! Thank you, UNIMAS, for the warm welcome. We’re already looking forward to our next visit! 🚀👏

"Perseverance amidst challenges defines my journey. I am Bakre Adebomi Atoke, a graduate of Olabisi Onabanjo University with a second class upper in Sociology. My passion lies in Human Resources, recognizing its profound impact on organizational success. During my service at Dorcas Adunola Oyediji Orphanage Home in Ibadan, I honed administrative skills vital to my career aspirations. Post-graduation, I envisioned a career in HR. Despite initial setbacks, I embarked on a path of self-improvement. Enrolling in Ace Coterie's training program expanded my HR acumen. Simultaneously, I meticulously crafted my CV and navigated countless interviews. Though weariness sometimes creeps in, I stand resolute. Each challenge is a chapter in my story, and I refuse to let it define me. To those in need of encouragement: persistence is key. Never relinquish your dreams until they materialize." #buildingmycareer#

The first International Week at EADA Business School has officially come to an end, and only after a few days, with a clearer perspective, I am beginning to process and understand the significance of these events for both professional and personal growth. Challenging yourself, stepping out of your comfort zone, having the courage to take risks, acquiring new knowledge to foster innovative ideas, but above all meeting new people, building lasting connections and being inspired by colleagues and professors: this could be the summary after the first #internationalweek of POLIMI Graduate School of Management. Now it’s time to focus on the next steps of this journey.

At the core of Taimahi Trust are five key principles that encapsulate the essence of our organisation: whanaungatanga, manaakitanga, kaitiakitanga, tuakana/teina, and kotahitanga. The Taimahi journey begins with whanaungatanga, emphasising the interconnectedness of relationships. In our Taimahi way, we recognise that our past, present, and future are bound together. Human-centred and value-generative, we build robust relationships with schools, families, trainees, volunteers, and other organisations. Belonging and storytelling are not mere concepts, they are the foundation of our approach. By celebrating our success stories, whether through events like volunteer lunches, or graduation ceremonies, we nurture a real sense of belonging. If you celebrate the successes of our trainees too, you’re very much a part of the Taimahi whānau 🥰

5 THINGS THAT HAPPEN (in the background) AT A GRADUATION Graduations are filled with emotions and excitement… for the most part. While positive energy bounces off Graduates and guests, a lot happens in the background. Here are 5 things that happen in the background for a #PublicRelations personnel at University Of Lusaka: 1. Mingle with Journalists (as seen in the picture ft. Masuzyo Ndhlovu MBA and Jason Dube). 2. Ensure Journalists are served well. (My secret is to serve them as I would want to be served - something I’m privileged to have experience with after working for 2 years in Traditional Journalism at The Post). 3. A lot of walking and running! (I tripled my daily walk challenge by midday). 4. Interacting to sponsors, partners, guests, and fellow members of staff. (I really love how much I learn when I #network). 5. Create content for Social Media! (I’m pretty sure it’s obvious that I love doing this on a daily basis… which reminds me: did you read the article I wrote about Dr Joan Beulah?) P.S. Today, we’re #finishingstrong with the final day of graduation 🥳 🗞️:https://lnkd.in/dPY6SkA5

Will be deconstructing public speaking for a bit on this session, that: 1) public speaking should firstly not be about gesture, tonality, eye contact, and whatnots, but rather about substance and intention; 2) gesture, tonality, and eye contact should be coming from confidence; and true confidence comes from strong knowledge foundation and well intention; 3) “fake it till you make it” is not complete, it should be “fake it, reflect, evaluate, so that you can make it”; intentional continuous improvement is a necessary condition. See you!
