It was great sharing the stage with Austin heavyweights like Brad Maples, Connor Greissing, Brooke Harlander, Dewitt Peart, and Colin Rosenbaum to discuss the Austin office market. There’s no denying that the Austin office market is as soft as it’s ever been. Historic vacancy will do that. While the narrative around that is usually portrayed negatively, for the other side of the equation - the companies that lease office space - it’s quite the opposite. In a market that has seen occupancy costs skyrocket across the board for years, in part making remote work/WFH decisions that much easier for business owners, maybe a prolonged period of softness gives Austin tenants some much needed leverage to recommit to their workplace strategy.
