It’s #RoadSafetyWeek. 🙌 ‘Every year 1700 people die on UK Roads. Another 30,000 receive serious, life-changing injuries’ - This is a terrifying statement that highlights the importance of road safety. Brake, the road safety charity, are doing amazing work on spreading awareness on road safety. Brake understands that behind every statistic, there’s a family going through trauma and grief. They support these families and victims through their free Brake National Road Victim service. Road safety is incredibly important and Brake are not just highlighting how important it is, they’re taking action. Follow the link below for more information and how to take part in their campaign for #RoadSafetyWeek.👇 https://lnkd.in/gEyXPjp #RoadSafetyWeek #DriveSafe #RoadSafetyAwareness #SaveDriving

🚦 This #RoadSafetyWeek (17-23rd November 2024), we’re proud to support Brake’s campaign, "After the Crash", which highlights the real cost of road incidents. Every year, over 1,700 people lose their lives on UK roads, with thousands more suffering life-changing injuries. Behind every statistic is a story - a family forever changed. At Yunex Traffic, we’re committed to making roads safer and cities more liveable. This week, we’ve been reflecting on the importance of supporting road crash victims and raising awareness about road safety through powerful initiatives and events. 🚸 💡We have hosted 2 lunch and learn style sessions to explore critical road safety topics. Laura Challis, Corporate Partnerships Manager at Brake, the road safety charity shared insights into their "After the Crash" campaign and how it supports road crash victims and their families. We were then joined by Mark Cartwright, Head of Incident Prevention at National Highways who explained the shocking statistics associated with the incidents on our UK roads and how their team is working to prevent them. These sessions highlighted the collective effort needed to make our roads safer for everyone. See how we’re making a difference: 🤝 Partnering with Brake to provide crucial support to road crash victims and their families. 🏫 Delivering educational workshops in schools to empower children with vital road safety knowledge. 🎨 Promoting road safety by showcasing stickers created by primary school children. Together, we can build safer communities and work toward a future where road crashes are preventable. #RoadSafety

This week has been #RoadSafetyWeek, and the theme is "After the Crash – Every road victim counts." It's a time to reflect on the devastating impact road crashes have on victims and their families. We must raise awareness, call for better support for those affected, and celebrate the heroes who help families in their time of need. As the weather turns colder and conditions become slippery, it's more important than ever to drive with care. Here are 5 tips to help you stay safe on the roads and protect pedestrians: 🌧️ Slow Down in Poor Weather: Whether it’s rain, snow, or fog, reduce your speed and increase your stopping distance to stay in control. 🚶♂️🚶♀️ Watch for Pedestrians: Look out for people crossing at night or in low light. Especially as visibility decreases in winter months. 🔧 Check Your Tyres: Make sure your tyres are in good condition and have enough tread for better grip in slippery conditions. ⚠️ Stay Focused and Alert: Distracted driving is dangerous. Keep your attention on the road. 👀 Ensure Proper Visibility: Keep your lights on when driving in low visibility conditions and your windscreen clear to ensure you can see and be seen by others. This week its Road Safety Week, where the charity Brake https://lnkd.in/gEyXPjp look to raise awareness about road safety and promote practice that reduces road related deaths and injuries. With temperatures dropping, this is a timely reminder to ensure that before each trip in your vehicle you check: ❄️The weather forecast before setting off 🛞Tyres are fully inflated 🥶Windows have been de-iced and you have plenty of windscreen washer fluid in your car 💡That you can use fog lights and full beam appropriately 🦺Your vehicle always has an emergency bag including a hi-visibility jacket, drinking water and warm clothing available. 🎄And ensure you don’t drink/do drugs and drive, especially during the festive months: look into alternative means of travelling home. Help keep yourself, friends, family and colleagues safe this winter and share ways the ways we can all promote road safety.

Only 2 more days until 30 of us from the UK branch of MacArtney Underwater Technology Group take on The Kiltwalk Aberdeen. There are 20 of us doing the Mighty Stride (18 Miles) and 10 doing the Wee Wander (4 Miles). We are doing this walk to help support Guide dogs and any donation you can make would be greatly received. Donations can be made at the following link. https://lnkd.in/eZ6YND-T Almost two million people in the UK are living with sight loss that has a significant impact on their daily lives. Of those, around 180,000 rarely leave their homes alone and lead lonely, isolated lives. Guide Dogs works for a world where people with sight loss are never left out of life, for a world where being blind or partially sighted is not what defines you. A world with enough support to make the challenges of sight loss no barrier to fulfilling hopes and dreams. #kiltwalk #guidedogs #charity #subsea #underwater

Did you know that this week is Road Safety Week? The organisers, Brake, the road safety charity, are focusing this year on victims of road traffic collisions (RTCs) and the devastation and impact this has on so many people. Our resident Paramedic and Training Director, Matt, has attended many collisions. As with Brake, he and his former colleagues do not refer to RTCs as "accidents", but make a very conscious use of the word "collision". This use of language is so important as it is helpful to think of these collisions as preventable in so many circumstances. Whilst campaigning is ongoing to make our roads safer, we at TTT are asking this week... Would you know what to do if you were involved in, witnessed, or came across the scene of an RTC? We believe everyone should have a basic knowledge of how to help, what to do until qualified help arrives, to give people the best chance of living their best life after a collision and to keep us all safer. If you wouldn't know what to do, we would strongly urge you to register on a 1-Day Emergency First Aid course. You never know when you could make that difference. #RoadSafetyWeek

🚩 24 Peaks Challenge for Seafarers' Charity 🌊 The critical need for the Seafarers' Charity has been highlighted by the recent news of the 21-person crew who have been stranded on their vessel for seven weeks without visas to go onshore. Their phones have been confiscated, leaving them isolated and cut off from family, financial services, and basic communication. It's a stark reminder of the challenges faced by seafarers every day. Several international seafarers' organizations are providing food and emotional support to these isolated sailors. But it's not enough. We need to do more. Join me in supporting all seafarers by donating to the 24 Peaks Challenge for Seafarers' Charity. By doing so, we can make a difference and provide critical support to those who need it the most. Donate here: https://lnkd.in/egFP9n4H Let's show our support for the seafarers who keep our economies moving and make sacrifices every day to do so. #maersk #alltheway #SupportSeafarers #24PeaksChallenge #seafarersCharity
