On International Day of Persons with Disabilities, we were honored to host Chaeli Mycroft and Zelda Mycroft of The Chaeli Campaign for an empowering fireside chat. What started as a grassroots effort to fund a single wheelchair has evolved into The Chaeli Campaign, a global movement for disability inclusion. Chaeli and Zelda reminded us how small actions—a wheelchair, a conversation, or a moment of understanding—can challenge misconceptions, break barriers, and create lasting impact. Chaeli inspired us to go beyond allyship and become "inclusion accomplices," embedding inclusive practices into our daily lives. A special thank you to Chaeli and Zelda for reminding us to create spaces where everyone can thrive, and to #KearneyEnableNetwork for organizing this impactful event. We also appreciate everyone who participated in this meaningful conversation.

🌟 Today is the International Day of Persons with Disabilities – a day to celebrate the achievements and contributions of individuals with disabilities while promoting their rights and well-being in every aspect of society. This year, we’re proud to join the #PositivelyPurple movement, a global initiative that shines a light on inclusion and fosters disability confidence in workplaces worldwide. 💜 Let’s take a moment to reflect: What does it mean to truly see, include, and support everyone around us? Disability comes in many forms, and not all of them are noticeable at first glance. But when we take the time to listen, to learn, and to act with kindness, we create a world where everyone can thrive. Here’s how you can make a difference: ✅ Challenge assumptions. ✅ Make spaces accessible for all. ✅ Speak up against exclusion. ✅ And most importantly, ask how you can be an ally. Together, we can make a difference – not just today, but every day. Let’s turn the world #PositivelyPurple! 💜 #InclusionMatters #BeAnAlly #DisabilityAwareness #InternationalDayofPersonsWithDisabilities myAbility Social Enterprise GmbH

🗨️ Challenging Stigma and Embracing Equality In a powerful conversation with top disability advocate Julie Harris, we discussed an essential truth: Julie Harris shared, “Stigma around disabilities holds us back. Accommodation is a legal right, not a charity.” I couldn’t agree more. As I added, “It’s time to shift our mindset—let’s challenge stigma and normalize accommodations. Everyone deserves equal access and opportunity.” Let’s work together to dismantle outdated beliefs and ensure that accessibility is seen as a fundamental right, not a special favor. By changing the narrative, we pave the way for a more inclusive and equitable world for all. 🔍 Join the conversation and be part of the movement towards real change. Today the International Day of Persons with Disabilities (IDPD) on December 3rd, we are excited to launch our special initiative: the #BreakTheBarrier campaign. This campaign is all about raising awareness Every step toward a more inclusive world is a win. I’ve seen amazing people breaking down barriers for those with disabilities, whether it’s by pushing for better access to public spaces or spreading awareness. These efforts aren’t just about physical changes—they’re about changing the way we think and making sure everyone is treated equally. I remember a time when a friend with a disability struggled with navigating places that weren’t accessible. Seeing their frustration made me realize how important it is to support changes that make spaces and opportunities open to everyone. It also motivated me to get involved in advocating for better accessibility. It’s not just about removing barriers, but about creating a society where everyone, regardless of ability, is respected and valued. Let’s keep supporting those who are making these changes and work together to #BreakTheBarrier! 🌟 #DisabilityInclusion #AccessibilityMatters #EqualOpportunities Marpu Foundation | NGO

🌎 Today, on International Day of Persons with Disabilities, we focus on the systemic barriers that continue to hinder equity and inclusion of People with Disabilities—and the actions we must take to dismantle them. ♿ Disability inclusion is as much about accessible infrastructure and policies as it is about shifting societal perceptions, challenging biases, redesigning systems and breaking down barriers. It’s about recognizing that disability is not an individual limitation but a societal failure to adapt and include. 💡Today, let’s commit to action: 👉🏻 As individuals: Challenge your biases and advocate for equity in your communities. 👉🏻 As organizations: Embed accessibility and inclusion into your core operations—not as an add-on, but as a foundation. 👉🏻 As governments: Invest in policies and infrastructure that create equitable opportunities for all. In our last D&I in the Workplace session for 2024, we explored the topic of Disability Inclusion with an incredible panel of speakers: 🎤Salamatu Kamara 🎤Esma Gumberidze 🎤Helge Fredheim Moderator: Chisom Udeze 📺 Watch the discussion here: https://lnkd.in/d2GzgfKG Let’s build a world where everyone belongs and thrives.🌟 #InternationalDayofPersonswithDisabilities #AccessibilityIsEquity #InclusionMatters #NothingAboutUsWithoutUs
