😳 Ten years ago, I began a journey to understand something that seemed foreign and almost incomprehensible—Bitcoin. Around the same time, Tim Draper made headlines for purchasing nearly 30,000 bitcoins seized from the Silk Road by the U.S. Marshals Service. 😱 Then a year later I distinctly remember reading The Economist’s 2015 article, The Trust Machine. At first, I wondered if Bitcoin was just another Ponzi scheme, but the more I researched Bitcoin and blockchain technology, the clearer it became: this was not just about currency—it was the beginning of something revolutionary. ✍ It was then that I started sketching out what would become the M5 edge economy—an inclusive system built on decentralized principles. I then got the courage to file a patent for the "Decentralized Title Transfer Validation of Assets" blockchain framework, believing that this bridge could extend the foundation laid by Bitcoin and blockchain technology. At the same time, I was introduced to Stoicism through Ryan Holiday’s The Obstacle Is the Way, which taught me how to see challenges as opportunities—just like Bitcoin offers a chance to redesign financial systems from the ground up. Stoicism became a framework for not only understanding Bitcoin but also navigating life’s challenges, though I had no idea what lay ahead on this path. It would be one filled with betrayal, death, heartbreak, and brutal rejections, yet the combination of my core personal faith, Stoicism, and the foundation of working with like-minded people who have stepped into their true purpose has allowed me to keep shining my light. 🙏 📔 Over the years, books like Ego Is the Enemy, Stillness Is the Key, The Daily Stoic, Courage Is Calling, and my coach Setema Gali gave me new perspectives on life and the evolving digital landscape. Stoicism and Setema taught me to embrace hardship as a path to growth, just as Bitcoin represents a way to reclaim control over our finances and lives. The patented decentralized title transfer protocol is designed into BRIDGE™ (Blockchain Registered Interbank Digital Global Exchange), built on the provenance of Bitcoin, to empower individuals, not big tech or governments, and to ensure the secure, transparent transfer of real-world assets. ☑ Now, we need your help to make this vision a reality. I’m asking you to sign the petition urging Congress and the President to pass the BRIDGE Digital Asset Act. This act will pave the way for a decentralized economy—one that is secure, democratized, and empowers everyone. Sign the petition today and Modernize the U.S. Financial Regulatory Framework to Support the Digital Asset Economy https://chng.it/nws45MCwcx #BRIDGEDigitalAssets #Bitcoin #DLT #TitleChain #StoicWisdom #DecentralizeTheFuture #EgoIsTheEnemy #RyanHoliday

Vasiliki (Vass) B. and Denise Hearn delivered an excellent presentation yesterday of The Big Fix, their new book that critically explores industry concentration in Canada at an event hosted by the Max Bell School of Public Policy who I've had the pleasure of collaborating with in my past role at Ville de Montréal. I had only briefly encountered Dr. Bednar's work through her Rags and Riches Newsletter, the duo was a wonderful revelation. In The Big Fix, the authors unpack the dynamics of market concentration across sectors like groceries, AI, and financial services (among other unusual suspects), underscoring how market capture hinders R&D, stifles creative disruption, impacts SMEs, and ultimately harms consumers and as the quote on page 83 states, promotes exploitation. They analyze the limitations of competition policy and suggest bold, actionable measures, addressing necessary (and difficult) shifts in culture and systems alongside regulatory amendments, inter-government alliances and democratization efforts. These solutions are neither idealistic nor overly simplified but nuanced and practical—some, like boosting reporting and ethical research on corporate power and competitiveness, offer near-term or rather quicker fixes. This fast reading, witty book is far from "fast-food" reading; it tackles complex issues and can easily serve as a gateway into deeper non-partisan discussions on trade agreements, grassroots policy change, and more. The Big Fix is designed to make policy accessible and is ideal for anyone curious in current events. It’s thought-provoking and a great read for all idealists and pragmatists our there hopeful about strengthening institutions.
📅 If you haven't gotten your ticket for Thursday's lecture with Vasiliki (Vass) B. and Denise Hearn, tickets are running low! The authors of "The Big Fix" (which attendees can receive a copy of) will be in conversation with Justin Ling. RSVP: https://lnkd.in/eWZX-X_J

July 12 - 15. Red letter days for social media citizens. Watch. Admire. But, dont share lessons from the grand spectacle. Bcoz, am yet to practice in my personal life the lessons that flooded my feed only a few months back. Eye for details, thinking big, strategically preparing invitee list, meticulous planning, flawless execution.... all these has been covered. Unless, you feel there is merit in wearing a vest to an official function and can be emulated in office parties, please don't share your 'lessons'. PLEASE! If you are still itching to teach, focus on the Euro and Copa finals! With your ability to extract pearls of wisdom from thin air, focusing there may help🙂 #WarningToCoachesIdontRequire
